*Let’s talk about the F word.*

There is a word we avoid because it asks more of us than a quick apology: forgiveness. This month, we are talking honestly about what forgiveness is, what it is not, and how Jesus meets us in the places that still hurt.

Today we talked about Forgiveness - Matthew 18:21-35

1. The chain works both ways.
You can’t live the passion and purpose God has for you if you are holding onto the chains of un-forgiveness. You weren’t made to carry this weight.

You don’t have to stay wounded just to prove you were wounded. Do you want to be made well? Release the wound.

2. Bitterness always leaks and grows in your life.

A bitter root produces bitter fruit.
Hebrews 12:15

Not forgiving is like drinking bottle of poison and expecting the other person to die.

3. Forgiven people forgive people.

Not forgiving is anti-Christ.

When you withhold forgiveness you are forgetting how much you’ve been forgiven.

You get to decide what you do with the chains. Forgiveness isn’t a feeling -it’s a choice. You get to release the person in prison and realize the person in prison is you!

Who is coming to mind? The Holy Spirit is prompting you to choose to forgive that person.

NEW THIS SUNDAY: The letter F has gotten a bad rep over the years. Sadly, we’ve given up on this particular letter of the alphabet and relegated it to the trash heap of our culture.

This series is destined to change that, as Dr. Jon Herron reminds us that in Gods alphabet “F” stands for Forgiveness. Through this one incredible word, you can find peace with God, self, and others.
