Saginaw Area Watermedia Artists (SAWA) is a Michigan non-profit organization offering art education and experiences to our members and the community through presentations, events and exhibits. SAWA is composed of artists from the Saginaw and Mid-Michigan area who meet once a month for the purpose of learning about watermedia, growing in our artistic endeavors, socializing, and offering fine art to the community.

Come check out the wonderful work by local artists. Now through April 18th at Studio 23!

Studio 23/The Arts Center welcomes the artists of Saginaw Area Watermedia Artists (SAWA) for a group exhibition. SAWA is a Michigan nonprofit organization with a focus on creating, displaying, and discussing art created in water-based mediums. The artists of SAWA explore both traditional and experimental techniques in this exhibition, with artwork that ranges from classically representational to pure abstraction and all stages in between. The paintings on display illustrate the variety and creativity that can be found within water-based art media. In addition to watercolor, the work on display includes combinations of gouache, acrylic, and mixed- media collage.

Join us for an opening reception on Thursday, March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Awards selected by juror Armin Mersmann will be presented during the reception.

Reception is free and open to the public.
