The proceeds collected will be used to send desperately needed items, such as food, clothes, educational tools, and health supplies. This event is free & open to the public, everybody is welcome. As-Salaamu alaikum!

SVSU is currently considering acquiring a certification to properly serve halal food on campus. This is a major step! We would appreciate your support, by filling out the survey below:

This will show that there is a demand for halal food. These meals would be available to all students, whether you are a Muslim, or simply prefer to eat meat that was humanely treated and 100% vegetarian fed. Please share it with your friends who attend SVSU!

Below is a picture of our favorite attendee from last week's event! This young lady was brave enough to stand in front of over 100 guests to ask the panel the following question:
“Why is there conflict in religion? It says 'con' right in the word!”

We soon discover that her father fought in Afghanistan, protecting our country.

She then asked:
“Why does ISIS pretend they're Muslim?”

Smartest 9-year-old I've ever met! She touched everybody's heart ❤️

We had a wonderful evening of peace, understanding, and unity! Thank you to our panel of speakers for joining us: Imam Mohamed Almasmari, Imam Saleem Khalid, Dr. Ray Lacina, and Sr. Shona Siddiqui. I hope everybody enjoyed listening to them, as well as trying on hijabs, getting a henna tattoo, and their name written in Arabic! Tag yourselves =)

As a campus community that values diversity and inclusivity, we invite you to attend a “Chat with Muslims” tonight, March 17 from 5-7 p.m. in Gilbertson Hall 202. It is a panel presentation featuring scholars discussing women's issues, Sharia Law, myths about Islam (such as terrorism and radicalism), and more. The panel will accept questions in a judgement free zone. Sponsored by the SVSU Muslim Student Association. Attendees may get a henna tattoo, write their name in Arabic, and take pictures at the hijab photo booth!
