It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we make this post.

We have made the heartbreaking decision to close the rescues doors permanently. This has not been an easy decision but it is a necessary one. It comes with much sadness on our end as we know rescues are needed more than ever.

After 19 years rescuing animals, our President has found herself tired and rescue fatigue has hit us all hard. We have to recognize this and act on it. We are, after all, human.

We have made the decision to close down and focus on our family and personal lives. This is never an easy decision. But we know it is the right one.

We want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us through the years and helped us save hundreds of animals. You are the reason we were able to save lives.

We missed Wishlist Wednesday! 😳

This beautiful family is one of two mamas and babies we have in rescue. There are 5 kittens and two moms who are going to be going through litter and kitten food (wet and dry) and needing to be fixed! We need your help! We absolutely cannot get these guys vetted and into new homes without YOU!

If you can donate, it would be so appreciated! These guys deserve a chance to find their furever homes! Help us make that a reality!!!!!

Happy Monday! I know I know, but positive thoughts bring positive results 😂 we are here because Odie is STILL searching for a forever home! Odie gets along with other friendly dog friends, we do not know about cat friends. No children, at all. He needs a quiet home, not a lot of visitors. Odie is a one family type of dog and is iffy meeting new people. He bonds quickly with his person though! He just needs a special home who will understand his past and understand what he needs.

Potential adopters need to be prepared to do meet n greets in Bridgeport, MI. Home, vet, and reference checks will be performed. If you think you may want to meet Odie and learn more message us today!

❤️❤️❤️❤️THANK YOU!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

We have missed posting some donations with being sick and busy with rescue! But we want to make sure you guys know just how much we appreciate the support. We never want anyone to feel unappreciated and strive to recognize those who support our mission! Unfortunately sometimes our lives outside rescue make keeping up a bit tough.

Thank you Glenda for the kitten food! With a bunch of hungry kittens and their moms in rescue we are definitely going through a lot! The kitties say thank you!!!!!

🆘🆘🆘🆘$5 FRIDAY🆘🆘🆘🆘

Oh my another week has gone by! What a busy week it has been! We hope everyone has had a great week and has a safe fun weekend!

We have had some littles come in recently! And that means our costs are increasing. We just had to buy vaccines and one box is $125! Each cat or dog who comes through rescue has 2 vaccines MINIMUM.

Plus rabies, lepto and Lyme for dogs, heartworm/combo testing, spay/neuter, microchip, dewormer, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, plus any medical care above cord medical they require! These costs are substantial sometimes! The little guy we took in with diarrhea will likely cost the rescue 4-5X the normal average amount to raise and get healthy enough for adoption.

This is ON TOP of our day to day costs. Food, litter, cleaning supplies, treats, gas for doing outreach. Nothing is cheap and we are not exempt from these costs!

In order for us to continue we NEED DONATIONS! And fosters. Without foster homes for animals to go to we cannot say yes. We are begging at this point. If you’ve EVER considered fostering NOW IS THE TIME!

Our links to donate and to our foster application are below. Everyone who donates financially TODAY 5/9 will be entered into a raffle to win a custom goody bag. We will have 2 available to be raffled off!

🆘🆘🆘🆘WISHLIST WEDNESDAY🆘🆘🆘🆘

We NEED FOSTERS! Like never before! We took in this little Manx kitten with severe diarrhea. The shelter is full and needs adopters, fosters and rescues to pull animals. We would love to pull a couple dogs from the shelter but need fosters to step up for these dogs! We also need medical funds, cat and dog food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, all the things to continue taking care of these animals who we are able to pull in to rescue.

Help us continue helping them today! Donate, foster, adopt, share. All of these helps us continue helping them. Links to our foster application and to donate are below.

We have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Marceline has found her family! They came to meet her at our adoption event at Magoo’s and fell in love. Even their fur baby was digging the vibe. They filled out an application that day and we ended up setting a second meet n greet up with dad and dog bro again later in the week to make sure the feelings were still there.

And they were! We took Marceline for one last meet n greet Saturday and things went perfectly! From a shy little girl who wouldn’t even move to a confident playful pup, this girl has blossomed! She is truly an amazing dog and fit in like she belonged there!

Her new family is aware of her tendency to be hesitant around new people especially men and we just know in their loving care she will be the best dog ever. When we left Saturday it was like we didn’t even exist anymore and we LOVE IT!

Thank you Darcy and family for choosing adoption. Marceline is a lucky puppy that she found her way into your home! We cannot wait to see her bloom into the gorgeous girl we know she is! We look forward to updates!

We also have to give a HUGE shout out to Sharon, Alison, Paige, and all the staff at Paws & Beyond who helped us give this girl a safe landing spot and worked with her to build confidence. Your work shows and we cannot thank you enough for supporting us and Marceline! Without you she wouldn’t have been able to come into rescue!

This weekend while running around like crazy after stray and loose dogs I really got thinking. And unfortunately I didn’t come up with many answers or solutions no matter how hard I tried. But I did come up with some ideas. Maybe they’re more like pipe dreams but ideas nonetheless.

Our county shelter is OVERRUN. The need for animal welfare agencies is so high we could never keep up. While I don’t have the answers of how to fix it or even why, I came up with some ideas to help. Some are long term goals and plans and some are short term things here and NOW.

First and foremost we need DONATIONS. This is the biggest struggle across the board for all animal welfare agencies. When the funds are not there we just cannot say yes as much as we want to. And trust me, we want to say yes to EVERYONE. But reality is we cannot.

So to help us specifically we have decided to move towards a fundraise up front on intakes. This means before we can pull an animal into rescue we will need to fundraise the expected costs of their care while with us up front. This will ensure we have the funds in place and won’t have to pull from other areas if we cannot fundraise the money once the animal is in our care.

Any money that may be leftover will then be placed in our general medical fund for the next animal. This will be money for unexpected and emergent costs that are not a part of our normal care. This is the fund where money is pulled from when we cannot raise enough for a normal spay/neuter which obviously just is not ideal.

We also need to grow our foster base. We need people to STEP UP and lend a helping paw. Both cats and dogs are in dire need of places to land and crash for awhile while searching for their furever homes. I will link our foster application below.

Foster homes are the backbone of our organization. We provide the medical care and food (as donations allow) and help network your fosters for adoption. You just provide a safe loving home for them until adoption!

I would LOVE to find a couple more foster homes for dogs and cats to help alleviate the stress on our over capacity shelter. Can you step up and be a hero?

If you cannot foster, would you be willing to donate to help an animal in need? Share their posts? These are ALL ways YOU can help! Who knows, you may have a friend on your list who would be interested in fostering? Maybe your company you work for is willing to donate?

Tater says please consider being a hero today! Without a foster home I wouldn’t have been able to be rescued and without donations I wouldn’t be ready for adoption!

Tater met a lot of people this weekend. But sadly nobody applied to adopt this sweet goofy boy. He is TRULY an amazing dog, who was completely failed. So no fault of his own he’s still learning the things he should have learned as a 2,3,4 month old.

Tater can be mouthy, if you’re not paying super close attention he goes potty in the house and his crate and will eat your food. He still uses his mouth to say hi and gets SUPER excited to meet you.

But, he’s A CUDDLEBUG! Once he climbs in bed with you he is melted butter. He just wants to love you, cuddle you, and be told how handsome he is and he’s a good boy. He WILL tell you he needs to potty by barking and going to the door but you have to be watching.

He looks to people for reassurance and direction. With some foundational work and a consistent schedule you’ll probably never have a better dog. And I mean that with my whole heart. There may not be much going on upstairs but what there is, is PURE LOVE.

Tater absolutely LOVES kids. Ok he loves all people. But with his tendency to be a bit mouthy and jumpy we do recommend older kids who can help correct these behaviors and hold their own. So probably kids over 8.

Tater is dog and cat friendly. He does chase cats sometimes (thus the scratches on his nose!) but corrects easily. He is a HARD player so being on a play friend. As a matter of fact, a dog who will match his energy and play hard is a must for this boy and will help him so much with training!

We do recommend a fenced yard so he has a place to run and play but he’s not a deal breaker. As long as you take him out to potty on a leash then he will be ok.

I don’t know how else to tell you guys how amazing this boy is besides, COME ADOPT HIM BEFORE I DO PLEASE! I cannot have another dog. If I did I would have to stop fostering. And think of all the Taters out there who need us.

To apply to adopt Tater fill out an application below. Tater is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, on prevention for fleas/ticks/heartworm, dewormed, and microchipped. He is fostered in Saginaw.

❤️❤️❤️❤️THANKFUL THURSDAY❤️❤️❤️❤️

We just need to stop sometimes and say THANK YOU!

Thank you to our supporters and donors, your donations are what helps us continue saying yes!

Thank you to our transfer partners! Without you stepping up when we cannot so many animals wouldn’t get help.

Thank you to our Animal Control Officers. Your dedication and hard work does not go unnoticed!

Thank you to our fosters for stepping up and saying yes! Without a safe place for them to go we wouldn’t be able to help!

Thank you to our amazing veterians. You have helped us save so many lives and deserve ALL the thanks in the world.

Thank you to our adopters! Everytime you adopt it opens a spot for the next one.

Below are just some of the animals we have helped or are helping this week! One is still working on being trapped. One was transferred to another rescuer. One was transferred to animal control, and the puppies are in foster! They were all able to be helped because of the people above! Team work makes the dream work!

🆘🆘🆘🆘WISHLIST WEDNESDAY🆘🆘🆘🆘

With a bunch of new little nuggets in rescue we are going through food and litter like you wouldn’t believe! We are DESPERATELY in need of Iams Kitten, Iams Sensitive Skin and Stomach, canned kitten food, clumping and non clumping litter.

And, every one of these nuggets will have to be FULLY vetted, including shots, spay/neuter and flea prevention. We need to order vaccines which will cost $100+. Each kitten will cost $100+ to spay/neuter and vaccinate! We need donations to help cover these costs!

Please if you can, follow the link below to donate! As you can imagine this time of year the calls for help come back to back To back but without supplies, money and a place for them to go we just cannot help! Help us continue saying yes!
