CWA members know that without oversight and accountability, the corporations that operate our telecom networks will not prioritize the interests of our communities. Bargaining Report #2

🚨📢 CWA/AT&T Midwest Bargaining Report #2 📢🚨

January 16, 2026

Your CWA Midwest Bargaining Committee met with the Company each day this week at the main table. The Union has presented fair proposals on your primary issues that will improve the standard of living for all members and their families.

We continue to demand that the Company provide information on their healthcare proposal and we are still waiting for most of that information.

Job Security and Contracting Out, remain priority issues to protect you and the jobs of the future.

We will continue to review the information the Company provides, as we receive it along with the proposals previously received, and continue to formulate responses.

STAND UP…BE PROUD…BE LOUD!

In Solidarity,

Our 2nd $1000 scholarship winner is Cheyenne Brown, daughter of Heather Brown!

Cheyenne will be beginning her first semester of nursing school this fall at SVSU. She's been working as a medical scribe at Covenant Healthcare for almost 2 years. She says "Working there has taught me so much and has made me very eager to start nursing school to learn even more."

Congrats Cheyenne from your CWA family ❤️

CWA retirees club members

Cindy Pieniozek, myself and Linda Beyer have been officers for quite a while. Cindy and I met (Linda has not responded to my attempts to reach her) and decided that unless there are three people that wish to take on the responsibility for the club it should be disbanded. Since we lost the union clerical support it has been difficult to manage the communication with the members and arrange the meetings. While the union hall is available it is not very accessible for many of our members and our caterers. It is time consuming and at times not very rewarding to arrange meetings.

There is just over $1,000 in the bank account. That money has been accrued through dues and raffle tickets. Traditionally we have donated our funds and voted on which charities to support. If we do not have three people that want to step up, we need ideas for which charities we want to support. Cindy suggested 1 in Midland and Bay City and two in Saginaw.

I will do my best to notify folks and will send updates on responses. Please respond to me via email. I will post on our page as there are members for which I no email address but have contributed over the years

Thank you, Mary Socha
