Golfing Fore Galactosemia Our son was born with a very rare genetic, metabolic disorder called Classic Galactosemia. Currently, the only treatment for this disorder is a restricted diet.

Galactosemia inhibits the body’s ability to break down lactose and galactose. Reid was born with a very rare genetic, metabolic disorder called Classic Galactosemia. The side effects of Classical Galactosemia include kidney failure, liver failure, cataracts, brain damage, ovarian failure, speech disorders, learning disabilities, and neurological disorders. Unfortunately, even with a restricted diet, children will still experience some of these side effects.
