This week, our Voice of Youth Podcast Club at Hemmeter Elementary welcomed ๐๐จ๐› ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, a longtime Saginaw journalist and community leader who spent 15 years with The Saginaw News/MLive.

Our young podcasters had so many questions about newspapers, journalism, and how news reaches our communities! ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ

One surprising topic?

From newspapers to radio, podcasts, social media, and AI, the tools we use to communicate keep evolving.

But one thing remains important:

United We Goยฎ founder Gina Anayana and Bob share a belief that preparing youth for the future means more than teaching them to use the latest technology.

Itโ€™s about helping them develop:

๐Ÿง  Critical thinking and media literacy
๐ŸŽจ Creativity and storytelling
๐Ÿ’ป Responsible use of emerging technology

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Meet Audrey Chrysler, United We Goโ€™s new Podcast & Multimedia Production Intern!

Audrey is a senior at Saginaw Valley State University majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Communication, working toward a career in law.

At United We Go, sheโ€™ll support our Voice of Youth Podcast Program and help tell our organizationโ€™s story through photography, videography, podcast production, and short-form digital contentโ€”helping share the youth voices and community connections behind our work.

Audrey also brings a love of creativity through local community theater, where she performs, designs stage sets, and helps with community events. In her free time, she enjoys extreme Sudoku puzzles, stargazing, and spending time with friends and family.

Weโ€™re excited to have Audrey on the team as she brings her perspective and creativity to our programs. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome! ๐Ÿ’›
