Sadler Community Center Sadler Community happenings!! SADLER, TEXAS. Sadler is on U.S. The area was settled in 1869 by A. J. A post office opened in 1892.

Highway 82, Farm Road 901, and the tracks of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas line, twelve miles northwest of Sherman in west central Grayson County. Cross, who was soon joined by other such pioneers as Zeke Hall and Jim Beach. The community proper developed around 1878, when John Sadler, a local landowner for whom the town was named, donated land for a right-of-way to entice officials of the Missou

ri, Kansas and Texas to extend the railroad tracks to the settlement. From the mid-1920s through the mid-1930s Sadler reported a population of 400; seven businesses were there by 1936. In 1956 Sadler reported 185 residents and three businesses, and from the mid-1960s through 1990 it reported a population ranging between roughly 300 and 350. By the mid-1970s the community had incorporated, and in 1990 it had an estimated population of 316. The population reached 404 in 2000.

The following dates are available for rent:

November: Sunday-16; Sunday-23; Saturday-29 and Sunday-30. Thanksgiving week is availabe EXCEPT for Thanksgiving day.

December: Sunday-7; Sunday-14; Saturday-20 and Sunday-21; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; Saturday-27 and Sunday-28.
All of Christmas week is available.

All of New Year week is available.

Rates were posted earlier - Remember if you are providing alcohol, an additional fee is charged and there must be at your expense a Security Officer present.

Rates for renting the center are:

$200 for five hours - this includes setup and cleaning time for your event. The five hours must be between the hours of 8am-10pm.

$300 for all day from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm - This includes setup and cleaning time for your event

PLUS $100 refundable cleaning fee for all rentals. If you leave the center clean and undamaged, the cleaning fee is returned to you.

IF you require additional setup fee, i.e., the night before an all day event, it is considered a 5 hour rental and will require an additional $200. You will not be charged an additional cleaning fee in that case.

IF alcoholic beverages are provided, an additional $250 is also required and it is the renter's responsibility to provider a security officer at the renter's expense. Verification of the security officer MUST BE presented prior to the event.

All rentals must be PAID IN FULL two weeks prior to the event. Until monies are received, your rental is not guaranteed. In the event the rental is not cancelled at least one week prior to the event, ALL fees are retained by the center and no refund is given.

🚨News Release🚨

“Denison Fire Rescue Responds to Structure Fire: Investigation Leads to Arson Arrest”

On August 6th, 2024, around 1:15 a.m. Denison Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of N. Lynn Avenue. Upon arrival of Denison Fire Rescue crews, the residence was fully involved with fire. No occupants were inside the home currently. Fire crews were able to get on scene in minutes and control the fire in about one hour. Due to severe fire damage, the house is considered a total loss.

An investigation by the Denison Fire Marshal’s office determined the official cause of the fire to be arson. In partnership with the Denison Police Department, the investigation concluded with the arrest of 66-year-old Mark Clift on August 14th, 2024.

He was transported and booked into the Grayson County Jail.

8/28/2025 Update – Mark Clift was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison with $158,000 in restitution.
