Sacramento Family Justice Center

Sacramento Family Justice Center A one-stop center for victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse and human trafficking

Sacramento County has over 80 agencies that serve victims of family violence. Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center (FJC) provides victims and their families with a "one stop" center to report a crime, provide a complete statement taken by a detective or a trained child interviewer, learn how to obtain a temporary restraining order, find safe housing, meet their prosecutor and victim advocate

to learn what will happen in court, and most importantly, find the support they need to keep them from falling back into the hands of the accused.

Honored to attend the California Family Justice Network Advocacy Day last week!

We kicked off the morning at the Sutter Club and are spending the day meeting with state legislators to advocate for the continued support of Family Justice Centers across California.

A special thank you to Tim Grayson, a steadfast champion for Family Justice Centers. His leadership has helped secure $10 million in state funding for Family Justice Centers across California for the past several years, ensuring critical services remain available to survivors and families in need.

We were also proud to honor and recognize Majority Leader Cecilia Aguilar-Curry as Legislator of the Year Award.

Grateful for the opportunity to share the impact of this work and advocate for the communities we serve.

We were honored to attend and present at the California Family Justice Network's inaugural California Conference last week!

Family Justice Centers from across the state came together under the theme, Building Safer Communities: Strengthening Support for Survivors Across California, to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and advance services for survivors.

During the conference, we spoke on the rising severity and lethality of violence and the critical importance of coordinated, survivor-centered responses. We also had the honor of introducing our keynote speaker, Ca. Senator Angelique Ashby.

Additional, we are very proud to have two of our FJC Board members Mark and Paul present along with our Development Director, Yolanda Gaffney. Great FJC Team.

Grateful for the opportunity to join colleagues (Paul, David, Faith, Yolanda and Michelle) and partners from across California who are committed to building safer communities and strengthening support for survivors.

Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center were on the California State Assembly floor yesterday as Senator Grayson presented a resolution declaring June 11 as California Family Justice Center Day!!

This recognition celebrates more than an organization, it celebrates hope, resilience, and the promise that no survivor has to face abuse alone.

Family Justice Centers are transforming lives every day, helping individuals and families find safety, healing, and new beginnings.

Their work inspires us all to create a future where every person can live with dignity, security, and hope.

Congratulations to all of our domestic violence training graduates. Over the past seven days, each participant demonstrated dedication, compassion, courage, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This intensive week of learning was not only about gaining knowledge, but also about building the awareness, empathy, and practical skills needed to support individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

Throughout the course, participants engaged in difficult but important conversations surrounding trauma, victim advocacy, crisis response, prevention strategies, community resources, and the long-term impact domestic violence has on individuals and communities. Every discussion, activity, and shared experience reflected the strength and determination of those who chose to be part of this training.

Completing a seven-day program of this nature requires emotional resilience, professionalism, and an open heart. We recognize the effort each graduate invested during the week - showing up each day ready to learn, listen, and grow. The knowledge gained during this training will help strengthen safer communities, empower survivors, and encourage more informed and compassionate responses to domestic violence situations.

We are deeply proud of every graduate for taking this important step toward advocacy, education, and service. Your willingness to engage in this work speaks volumes about your character and your commitment to helping others. Thank you for your participation, your honesty, and the support you showed one another throughout the training.

As you move forward, we hope you carry the lessons, connections, and experiences from these seven days into your work, your communities, and your everyday interactions. The impact of this training extends far beyond the classroom, and each of you now plays an important role in creating awareness, promoting safety, and being a voice for those who may need support.

Congratulations once again to all of our graduates - your hard work and commitment are truly appreciated, and we celebrate this achievement with you.

It was an honor to host ten Sacramento District Attorneys and staff for a tour of our beautiful Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center.

Opportunities like this strengthen the partnership we share in serving victims and building safer communities.

We are deeply grateful for the dedication of the District Attorney’s Office and the important work they do each day to support victims, seek justice, and hold abusers accountable.

Together, through collaboration and compassion, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

500 Comfort Kits from Soroptimist International of Rancho Cordova & Gold River -and an unexpected assist from the amazing folks at the Better Business Bureau!

They spotted us loading kits in the parking lot, came right over to help, and even loaded up the car to help deliver the kits. The BBB wasn’t part of the drive, but their kindness and teamwork made a huge difference. 💙

Thank you Soroptomist!!

We were honored to stand with survivors, advocates, and 17 District Attorney’s Offices throughout Ca. at Survivor Advocacy Day at the State Capitol last week.

It's about giving a voice to those impacted by crime and advocating for legislation that strengthens support, protection, and justice for victims and their families.

Change happens when survivors are heard, and we were grateful to be part of that conversation.

Erica Soria and Juan Gamino visited us earlier this week to present a $1,000 donation from National Life Group Foundation’s Do Good Heroes. The support was made in recognition of Captain Joe Hunter. After learning more about our work in the community, both Erica and Juan were enthusiastic about getting more involved.
