The Department of Surgery is bursting with pride as we celebrate a historic milestone for our very own Dr. Diana Farmer! At the recent Vienna Joint Congress, the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association (EUPSA) bestowed its highest honor upon her: EUPSA Honorary Membership.

This prestigious distinction recognizes global leaders who have dedicated their lives to pediatric surgery, celebrating outstanding, long-term contributions to the field. Dr. Farmer’s groundbreaking work and enduring legacy embody the very essence of this recognition.

A Moving Tribute to a Global Leader and Mentor
The ceremony was a deeply emotional highlight of the congress:

The LEAD Awards recognize outstanding professionals who demonstrate exceptional Leadership, Education, Advancement, and Dedication (LEAD) to the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery and the treatment of obesity.
