UC Davis Health's Fetal Care and Treatment Center is internationally

Bifida (myelomeningocele, MMC). Our multidisciplinary team provides
comprehensive care spanning prenatal diagnosis, fetal intervention, neonatal
management, and lifelong follow-up, while leading innovative clinical
research that is shaping the future of fetal therapy.

Huge congratulations to our Cardiothoracic Surgery residents, Dr. Pournika Muniyandi and Dr. Jonathan Hyde! 🫀👏

Their team was named one of the top three teams in North America in the 2026 CT Surgery Resident Showdown! 🏆

Drs. Muniyandi and Hyde have been invited by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) to compete in the semi-finals at the STS 63rd Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, this coming January 2027. The top North American team will advance to face off against Europe's best in the international finals.

We are incredibly proud to have them represent our Department of Surgery on the national stage. Best of luck in San Diego! 🩺✨

This prestigious distinction recognizes global leaders who have dedicated their lives to pediatric surgery, celebrating outstanding, long-term contributions to the field. Dr. Farmer’s groundbreaking work and enduring legacy embody the very essence of this recognition.
