The need continues to grow.

Last month, in partnership with our network, we provided food assistance to 313,395 individuals across Sacramento County. That's a 1% increase from June and a year-over-year increase of 2% compared to July 2025.

We've "bean" having a good time at the office! 🫘

Our staff got together yesterday to celebrate all things beans. From building the tallest jellybean tower and guessing the weight of different bean jars to playing bean-themed games and learning fun bean facts, there was plenty of bean-filled fun to go around.

Let’s just say, we’re bean-yond grateful for a team that knows how to have a good time!

We received a shipment of tomatillos, bringing a little extra color, flavor and freshness to the food we're sharing with our neighbors!

A nutritious staple with a whole lot of flavor, tomatillos can be used in everything from salsa verde and enchiladas to soups and stews. They’re also a source of vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, making them a delicious, nutritious and versatile addition to your plate.

From the farm to our warehouse to the dinner table, we're proud to help make fresh food available to families across Sacramento County.

We're grateful to the Kelly Foundation for helping us strengthen our fleet and expand our ability to serve our community. 🚗

The vehicle they generously funded will make frequent visits to our retail food recovery partners and partner agencies across Sacramento County, helping us recover more food, strengthen collaboration and increase food access.

It's one more resource that'll help us make an even greater impact for our neighbors. Thank you, Kelly Foundation, for making it possible!

There's a new SFBFS vehicle on the road! 🚗

A huge thank you to Bank of America for helping us add a hybrid Toyota Camry to our transportation fleet.

This vehicle may be smaller than our trucks, but it'll make a big difference, helping our team recover small food donations, visit partner agencies and keep our day-to-day work moving. And we'll save on gas while we're at it! ⚡

Thank you, Bank of America, for investing in the infrastructure that helps us nourish our neighbors and support our community.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who supported the Match for Meals campaign! 💙

Together with the matching funds from The Center at Sierra Health Foundation and United Way California Capital Region, we raised $158,961, enough to provide more than 476,000 meals to neighbors facing hunger across Sacramento County.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Sierra Health Foundation and United Way for leading this initiative and so generously matching every donation.
