We’ve just sent out our monthly Kingsley Art Club e-News newsletter. It’s one of the benefits you could receive when you become a member.

The Kingsley was founded in 1892. Over its 134 years, it has evolved into offering these programs to support and develop the art community in the Sacramento region:

- **The Speaker Series,** bringing artists, curators, gallerists, educators, activists, philanthropists and all types of arts professionals to share their knowledge and experience,
- **Various initiatives and grants** to recognize, encourage, and provide appropriate financial resources to local artists and arts organizations in the Sacramento community,
- **The High School Inspirations Exhibition,** providing an exhibition for local high school student artists to create their own art inspired by works they have seen at the Crocker Art Museum, with the resulting student artwork displayed in the Crocker Art Museum,
- **The College Merit Awards Exhibition,** providing an exhibition for local community college student artists, also displayed in the Crocker Art Museum,
- **Kingsley In The Classroom,** docent-led elementary school programs,
- **The Crocker Kingsley Exhibition,** a competition and exhibition, showcasing the top artists in the nation, displayed at Blue Line Arts
- **Art & Antiques Evaluation Day,** a mini Antiques Roadshow, for the community to bring their personal treasures for appraisals.

The Kingsley Art Club & Educational Foundation is run by a board of volunteers and is made possible by your support through your membership and donations.

Artists, submit Your Artwork Now To The Legendary Crocker Kingsley Art Competition.

The KINGSLEY ART CLUB is excited to announce that the legendary Crocker Kingsley Art Competition and Exhibition is back in January 2027.

Now is your chance to submit your artwork: the deadline is November 6th, 2026.

The Crocker-Kingsley Exhibition was first juried in 1940, a tradition that continues to the present day. Over the past 80 years, this prestigious show has included many premier names in American and California art, including

- Robert Arneson,
- Elmer Bischoff,
- Fred Dalkey,
- David Gilhooly,
- Ralph Goings,
- Gregory Kondos,
- Roland Petersen,
- Mel Ramos,
- Ruth Rippon, and
- Wayne Thiebaud.

Works selected by this year’s juror will be on display in all 4 galleries at Blue Line Arts. All materials are welcome, including installation.

The deadline to submit your artwork is Saturday, November 6th, 2026.

Sacramento-based artist Ronald Peetz is a rule breaker. He has something to say, and he says it with his vibrant, often humorous, usually thought-provoking and always surprising art.

“I want to slow people down. That’s why I put stuff on the floor. That’s why I make stuff out of every material that you can think of, from duct tape to X-rays. I am what I am. I’m different. Nobody works like me,” says Peetz.
