Our right to live in our own homes and communities is under threat, and we're taking action!

CA Attorney General Rob Bonta recently spoke out in support of community integration. Now we're asking him to take the next step and sign the Commitment to Community Integration for People with Disabilities.

Join us for an Action Hour on Wed, Oct 14, 1–2 PM PT on Zoom to thank AG Bonta for his statement and urge him to sign the Commitment.

DREDF Executive Director Michele Uzeta will break down the federal threats to community integration, recent developments, and what's at stake. Then, we'll take action together by calling and emailing California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

We'll provide everything you need — scripts, contact information, and support. No advocacy experience needed. CART and Spanish interpretation will be provided. You can request additional access needs when you register.

Meet representatives from more than 30 companies who are committed to hiring, training, and accommodating employees with disabilities at the 4th Annual I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair hosted by PRIDE Industries on Wednesday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, 1400 J Street, Hall A in Sacramento. Attendees can explore various open positions in different industries, get resume help and advice on interviewing techniques, and speak to advisors from DOR, Alta California Regional Center, and other government agencies. 🎤 Keynote Speaker Announcement! 🎤 We’re excited to welcome Katie Crook as a keynote speaker! Katie will share her story, bringing powerful perspective, inspiration, and conversation to our community. Join us in giving Katie a warm welcome—we can’t wait to hear from her!

Katie's bio- Katie Crook and her husband, Perry II, have been married for 19 years and have spent most of their lives in Northern California. They met at Shasta College, completed their undergraduate degrees at Cal Poly Humboldt, and eventually made their way back home. They currently reside in Tehama County.
Katie is mom to an 8-year-old daughter, Penelope, and a 6-year-old son, Perry III, who lives with multiple disabilities and medical complexities. Since becoming Perry's number one advocate, Katie's understanding and appreciation of terms like ADA-compliant, accessible, and inclusive have changed drastically. What may once have seemed like simple words now carry a much deeper and more personal meaning.
Before becoming a mom, Katie worked full-time in retail and pharmacy for nearly 20 years. Today, she embraces her role as a stay-at-home mom while running a cottage bakery specializing in custom royal icing sugar cookies. Through her business, she loves helping people celebrate life's special moments with fun and delicious treats.
As both a mother and an advocate, Katie understands firsthand the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and creating a world where people of all abilities feel welcomed and valued. She is proud to support this fundraiser through her business and to contribute to a cause that is so close to her heart.
