Join us October 13–15, 2026, in Windsor, CA, for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) course and exam.
This nationally recognized training helps you and your staff identify, assess, and prevent potential playground hazards—supporting safer, more welcoming places for children to play. Those who pass the CPSI exam earn certification for three years.

Registration includes a two-day course, day-three exam, learning materials, two lunches, and 1.5 CEUs for CPSI and CPRP/E.
💲 $750 for CPRS members | $900 for non-members

📢 Attention CPRS agencies! Join us at Sacramento State’s Career, Advising, and Professional Skills (CAPS) Event on Wednesday, September 16, from 2:00–5:30 p.m. in the University Ballroom.

🌲Funding opportunity for California parks and recreation agencies! 💰
Approximately $27.5 million is available statewide through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to help acquire, develop, and improve outdoor recreation spaces.
A few quick details:
• Up to $6 million per application
• 50% match required
• Projects can include parks, trails, playgrounds, athletic facilities, pools, skate parks, BMX/pump tracks, open space, and more
• Applications due January 14, 2027
OGALS is also hosting application workshops throughout California from August through October.

The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program – Round 8 is now open for applications!

This amazing federal National Park Service grant supports the acquisition, development, and major renovation of public outdoor recreation spaces in eligible communities.

✨ Key Details:
- Up to $15 million per application
- Minimum request: $300,000
- Up to 50% of total project costs can be requested through ORLP

🗓️ Application Deadline: Friday, August 28, 2026, by 11:59 p.m.
