Grassroots non-profit, and inspired offshoot of The Awkward Gardener. Statistics show that we could feed the world’s hungry with the massive amounts of food that are thrown away. Combined with our passion for implementing environmentally friendly and more sustainable practices, we gather food donations from community members, mutual aid organizations, and local restaurants who have perfectly good
food that would otherwise be thrown away (for whatever reason) and other supplies in good condition that need a new home. By diverting these from landfills, not only do we help Mother Earth, but we help those in need get much needed food and supplies where they might struggle to otherwise. Although a small operation, we serve dozens to hundreds of undomiciled and food insecure folks every week in the Sacramento area.
