NCCHC Concilio is proud to recognize Dr. George L. Pla, Founder and CEO of Cordoba Corporation, as the recipient of the 2026 Líderes con Legado Award.
Dr. Pla has spent a lifetime building what lasts. As founder of a nationally recognized civil engineering and program management firm featured as a Harvard Business School case study, he has shaped critical infrastructure across energy, water, school facilities, and transportation—projects that serve communities long after the work is complete.
His leadership reaches far beyond any single engagement. As President of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, he is preparing one of the nation’s most iconic venues for the 2028 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Track & Field events, ensuring the Coliseum continues to engage surrounding communities for generations. He co-authored Power Shift: How Latinos Have Transformed Politics in America (now taught in colleges and universities) and followed it with Forging Latino Power in 2025—works that document and advance an enduring political and civic legacy. He co-founded the City Club of Los Angeles, helped plan the historic 2012 transport of the Space Shuttle Endeavour through the streets of the city, and has served on the boards of the California Science Center Foundation, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce (as 2025 Chair), and the LA28 Olympics Committee.
At every turn, Dr. Pla’s work has been defined by the same principle: create institutions, infrastructure, stories, and opportunities that outlast the moment. That is the measure of a true legacy.
This September, we are honored to celebrate Dr. Pla’s extraordinary body of work—and to recognize him among su propia comunidad—at the 2026 NCCHC Concilio Leadership Symposium Awards Luncheon in Washington, D.C.
