My name is Tyler O'Brien im a 9/11 Veteran and Wounded Warrior Project Alumni. Im currently doing a charity run for the WWP,(http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org ) which consists of competing in 4 Tough Mudder Competitions ( http://toughmudder.com/wounded-warrior-project/) over the next 2 months in order to raise awareness about the project and its soldiers andraise enough funds to purchase 25 Und
er Armor WWP Packs. The Final race which is also my deadline for the achieving my goal is the Worlds Toughest Mudder Competition in Englightown, NJ November 17th, which is a 24 Endurance challenge that is hailed as one of the Toughest events on the planet. (http://toughmudder.com/worlds-toughest-mudder-series-finals/ ). The money raised through your generous contributions will cover my event registration fee which is between $95-150 and travel costs, all other proceeds beyond that will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. My goal for the funds raised would be to purchase 25 WWP backpacks that will be sent overseas to critically wounded soldiers in the hospital. For more info on the backpacks please feel free to email me, or you can read about them on WWP’s web-site: http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/programs/wwp-packs.aspx . The cost of the WWP packs are 100.00. This gives me a donation goal of 2500.00, which i plan on greatly surpassing as i complete each event and gain more warriors to compete with me and raise awareness of my goal. I see this competition as a way to regain some of the things I have lost and to find new empowerment and strength I never knew I had as well as helping other wounded warriors find their way. I hope the pictures and the written documentary of these next few months of my recovery will inspire others like me to realize the potential that’s inside of us and that injured is not broken and nothing can keep you down. Please take the time to read up on the events as well as The Wounded Warrior Project and ANY donation you can make is greatly appreciated and as I stated - ALL donations raised beyond the event registration fees and travel from now until the Nov 17th Worlds Toughest Mudder Competition will go to the WWP. These backpacks go to soldiers who are in a great deal of physical and mental distress, and often held in hospitals in Europe with no family or friends to visit with. This program is very important to me as it provides us Warriors with the help and the proper channels to help recover physically and mentally to make sure not only that we come home safe, but that we stay safe once home. Soldiers fight for our freedoms, now its to for us to fight for theirs. Are you willing to accept the challenge, its not just cause...its personal ! "Fallen Soldiers Rise Again"
