WHAT WE DO
Tutoring Program: A free two-hour, twice-a-week, tutoring session for children who are labeled as less likely to succeed. The children are guided in their homework assignments, helped to improve their reading and comprehension, writing and Math skills, and overall school performance. The long-term goal is to assist them to finish high school, attend college, get good-paying jobs, and b

ecome productive members of the community. Life Experience Program: The children are given opportunities to participate in field trips, camping, leadership workshops, life skills discussions, and other educational exposure activities. The goal is for them to develop an improved self-confidence, create a better vision for their future, and follow their dreams beyond the limited horizons that hold them back due to poverty. Mentoring Program: With a trusted adult and positive role model as mentor, children are given guidance to set their life goals, build their character, develop their talents and skills, in order for them to be successful and make a difference in the world. ESL Program: Believing in the philosophy that “the parent is the child’s first teacher,” we help immigrants acquire basic English knowledge and skills, in order for them to support their children’s academic success. Scholarship Program in California: This is a one-time $1,000 financial aid given to young people who pursue a college education, and those who take technical education as an alternate route to preparing themselves tofindgood jobs. A one-time $1000 financial assistance is also given to deserving students who go a Catholic high school. Scholarship Program in the Philippines: For most of the 3.8 million Filipinos living below the poverty line, education is truly their only way out of poverty. A college scholarship grant (that covers the cost for tuition, books and meal allowance) is offered to deserving youth. Microfinance Program in the Philippines: A program that offers small business training and micro-finance loan to those who want to help themselves.
