RRCC was quoted in Waste Dive regarding CARB’s proposed Advanced Clean Fleets amendments and the potential impact on private waste and recycling haulers serving local governments.
Our industry supports cleaner technologies and continues to evaluate zero-emission options where feasible. However, these proposed changes raise serious concerns about timing, process, vehicle availability, charging infrastructure, cost, and impacts to essential local collection services.
Waste and recycling collection is critical public infrastructure. Any transition must be realistic, legally sound, and workable for haulers, local governments, utilities, and ratepayers.
