's Senior Policy Advocate Staci Heaton was featured in a Los Angeles Times article discussing Governor Gavin Newsom's recent veto of AB 2494.

As Staci noted, sound forest management remains essential to improving forest health and resilience. RCRC opposed the bill due to concerns that it would limit management flexibility, create funding and implementation challenges, and increase litigation risk.

We appreciate the Governor's decision to veto this legislation and support continued science-based forest management in California.
