Congratulations to Dr. Michael Yashar, recipient of ACEP's Innovative Change in Practice Management Award!

Dr. Michael Yashar co-developed UCLA Health's Next Day Clinic, a program that safely reduces hospital admissions through rapid outpatient follow-up. His work has improved patient care, saved more than 1,300 hospital bed-days, generated $3.9 million in health system savings, and created a scalable model for emergency departments outside the pilot initiative.

Join us in celebrating the exceptional contributions to emergency medicine from CalACEP member Dr. Cherrelle Smith, a recipient of the National Emergency Medicine Clinical Teaching Award!

This award is given to an outstanding educator who demonstrates superior clinical teaching and is regarded by residents, medical students, and graduates as a master clinician educator who has profoundly influenced their clinical practice. This award is recommended for faculty who are 100% clinical and have had longstanding clinical teaching responsibilities within an EM residency and/or medical school.
