At this year’s Volunteer Leadership Conference, volunteers learned about a variety of strategies to improve patient experiences, program management, and more. Many thanks to the attendees who joined us! Event highlights and presentations included:

Dimitrios Alexiou, FACHE kicked off the conference with information about current state of California hospitals, highlighting challenges and priorities, and topics affecting volunteer services.

Tools and techniques for managing hospital volunteer workforces, program evaluations and competency assessments, as well as data-driven strategies to enhance patient experiences and support hospital operations.

Ideas to strengthen volunteer-driven arts and patient experience programs that promote comfort and wellness among patients and staff, such as integrative therapies, music and storytelling, pet therapy, and more.
