Still flying high from a wonderful weekend of staged readings of “FANGS” by Ike Torres, a play that grapples with fathers, sons, institutional “monsters,” family tragedy, and ultimately healing your inner child. Thank you to all who came out to support this new work-in-progress: our beautiful and beloved community, our dedicated teatro company and all the talented artists!!

FANGS is a haunting and electrifying spoken word experience by Teatro Espejo’s own Isaac “Ike” Torres, featuring performances by Ike Torres and Noah Ramos. In this bold new work, Torres weaves together a braided narrative of spoken word, tragicomedy, and film to explore the personal horrors carried by those searching for peace in the land of liberty. A convicted killer. A son gone astray. A father crossing the bar. A man battling his ego -  and a poet’s pen.

FANGS dives deep into the truths we often avoid, confronting the monsters within and around us with unflinching honesty.

Presented as an intimate, cabaret-style staged reading at the Fat Elephant Theatre, this is a unique opportunity to experience a developing work up close - and be part of its journey. Each performance invites you not only to witness the story, but to engage with it.
