This Friday, June 5, the U.S. Administration will make another attempt to auction off areas of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil and gas drilling.

Sacred to the Gwich’in people, the Arctic Refuge is home to polar bears, musk oxen, migratory birds, wolves, and the Porcupine Caribou Herd, and is essential to the food security and way of life for both the Gwich’in and Inupiat people.

Development in the Arctic Refuge would bring devastating cultural and ecological consequences— putting Indigenous rights, the climate, and the diverse local ecology at serious risk.
