Since 1983, the organization has raised more than $4.7 billion—most of it $1 at a time—for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many childr

en as possible. Right now there’s a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital working to save the lives of kids in your community. In fact, 62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute — that's one child every second. Some are battling cancer. Some are suffering from a traumatic injury. Others require constant care because they were born too early, or with a genetic disease. Regardless of why the kids are there, 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals always have their doors open. Did you know that there are over 50 Walmart’s and Sam’s Clubs in the greater Sacramento area that help fundraise for UC Davis Children’s Hospital from June 8-July 5?

During the campaign our team brings out past patient families and hospital faculty to visit our partner locations to celebrate their fundraising efforts and share how donations benefit kids and families in our community!

We are having a blast so far! Don’t forget to donate at the register and help kids who need it the most!

These incredible dogs—now five strong—help reduce anxiety, provide comfort during medical procedures, encourage movement and emotional well-being, and create positive memories for kids during their hospital stay.

During the entire month of May, Costco warehouses in the greater area host a special day for past patients in celebration of their medical journey and to help raise awareness and funds for UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

At just 1 year old, Emily was diagnosed with leukemia after her parents noticed she had stopped walking and was increasingly tired and irritable. She was rushed to UC Davis Children’s Hospital, where doctors immediately began lifesaving treatment to prevent organ failure. Over the next couple of years, Emily endured countless hospital stays, surgeries, infections, septic shock, chemotherapy treatments, and complications related to her leukemia care. Through every challenge, CMN funded programs like our facility dog program, music, and art therapy helped Emily and her family keep their spirits up and helped them move forward. Emily had her last treatment in 2014! Today, Emily is a 16-year-old, 10th grader who loves baseball, singing, and reading! This is why we do what we do, so little kids have the chance to grow up!

We're excited to announce that Shine Arslanian, a longtime Children's Miracle Network (CMN) ambassador, has been selected as a 2026 National Children’s Miracle Network Champion!

Shine’s selection marks a historic milestone for UC Davis Children’s Hospital. In the hospital’s 38-year partnership with CMN, this is the first time one of our patients has been chosen to serve as a National Champion.

Shine will serve as a powerful ambassador for the 170 children’s hospitals that make up Children’s Miracle Network, representing millions of children on their health journeys. National Champions are featured in nationwide awareness campaigns, attend national events and help elevate the life-changing care made possible through community support.

“Shine embodies resilience, joy, and possibility. To have him selected as a National Champion is not only a testament to his incredible story, but to the extraordinary care teams, donors and community partners who make miracles possible every day at UC Davis Children’s Hospital," said Kacie Merrick, Senior Director of Programming at Children's Miracle Network at UC Davis.
