✨ Everyone, meet Trixie! ✨

This sweet, compact little girl is our newest rescue, and we estimate her to be around 4 years old.

Trixie’s story started in a heartbreaking way. She was found tied up at a job site in South Sacramento during nearly 100-degree weather. Thankfully, one of the workers stepped in and gave her a safe place to stay for a few days. Unfortunately, her dogs and little Miss Trixie didn’t get along, so we stepped in to help and welcomed her into the Pits and Pals family.

We’re still getting to know Trixie, but so far, we absolutely adore her. She is already microchipped and spayed, and she’ll be getting her vaccinations soon. She’s currently learning crate training and is doing great! Even better, she hasn’t had a single accident in the house, so we’re confident she’s house-trained.

While she appears to be friendly with other dogs, we haven’t officially tested her yet since she’s still settling in. We’ve only had her for about a week, and we want to give her time to decompress before making any final assessments.

What we do know is that Trixie is smart, affectionate, and loves being with her people. She already knows “sit” and “shake,” and at only about 50 pounds fully grown, she’s the perfect little pocket-sized companion. She’s a sturdy little nugget with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Trixie is not quite ready for adoption yet. We want to spend a little more time getting to know her and making sure we can provide potential adopters with all the information they need. But trust us—this girl is going to make an amazing addition to someone’s family.

✨ Every once in a while, a dog comes along that you can just tell is something special… and that’s our Roxy. ❤️

Today, Roxy had a very special meet and greet with a potential adopter. Because he lives nearly six hours from Sacramento, we met halfway in Nevada to make it happen—and from the moment they met, it was clear there was an instant connection. 🥹

You can see it in the photos: the smiles, the cuddles, and the way Roxy looked at him. It truly felt like love at first sight.

We are incredibly excited for this sweet girl and what could be the beginning of her happily-ever-after. Next up is her home check, and if all goes well, Roxy may soon be heading to her forever home. 🏡❤️

Keep your paws crossed for this deserving girl—we have a feeling this is the start of something beautiful. 🐾✨

Happy Tails, Toad! 🐾❤️

The last of our Mario litter has officially found his forever home!

Yesterday, Toad headed home with his wonderful new mom and dad, along with his new canine siblings, Callie and Murphy. We couldn’t be more excited for this sweet boy as he begins the next chapter of his life surrounded by love, companionship, and adventure.

His family plans to give him time to settle in and adjust to his new surroundings, but before long, Toad will be joining them on hiking trails, exploring new places, and making memories along the way. It sounds like the perfect life for a curious, happy puppy who is always ready for his next adventure.

Watching Toad leave for his forever home is bittersweet, but knowing he has found such an amazing family makes it all worthwhile. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the Mario litter on their journey—from the shelter to rescue, foster care, and finally, forever homes.

With Toad’s adoption, all of the Mario litter puppies are now happily settled into their forever families.

Congratulations, Toad! We can’t wait to see where life takes you. Wishing you a lifetime of love, adventures, and happy memories.

🐸❤️ Big news for Toad!

Today, the last of our Mario litter had his meet-and-greet and dog introductions with a potential adopter and her two resident dogs, Callie, a sweet 12-year-old senior pittie girl, and Murphy, a fun-loving 4-year-old Lab/Collie mix.

We started with a pack walk and spent time letting everyone get to know each other. As you can see, things went amazingly well! The dogs were comfortable together, and we couldn’t be happier with how the introductions went.

Toad’s potential adopters seem very experienced and committed to setting everyone up for success. They are planning to use a crate-and-rotate approach for the first couple of weeks to allow all of the dogs time to settle in and adjust at their own pace.

We are incredibly excited for Toad and this next chapter in his life. After months of waiting for the right family, it looks like he may have found exactly that.

Happy Tails, Peach! 🍑🐾

We are beyond excited to announce that our sweet Peach has officially found her forever home! This beautiful light brindle girl came to us from Bradshaw Animal Shelter when she was just about 10 weeks old, and from the very beginning, she stole everyone’s hearts with her loving personality and adorable puppy charm.

Peach is now settling into a wonderful forever home with a loving family and even a cat sibling to spend her days with. We couldn’t be happier for this little girl and the amazing future ahead of her.

Watching rescue dogs find the love and stability they deserve is what makes all of this worthwhile, and Peach’s story is exactly why we keep going.

While we celebrate Peach’s happy ending, her brothers Luigi and Toad are still searching for their forever families. If you’ve been thinking about adding a perfect little puppy to your home, now is the time to reach out to us!

🐾 Meet Roxy 🐾

Roxy is an almost 5-year-old American Bully mix looking for the forever family she deserves. 💕

This sweet girl is:

✔️ On monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

Roxy walks nicely on a leash, although she prefers shorter strolls followed by plenty of couch cuddles. At 68 pounds, she’s a thick, chonky girl full of love and personality. Her favorite thing in the world is simply being close to her people. She truly just wants to be your loyal furry companion. ❤️

Roxy’s story hasn’t been easy. After spending her whole life with one person, she was abandoned and eventually found herself surviving around a homeless encampment before we were able to rescue her. Despite everything she’s been through, she absolutely adores people and loves other dogs.

We will be cat testing her soon, but honestly, we haven’t seen any signs that she would have issues with smaller animals.

Meet Roxy! She’s our newest rescue pup. According to information on her chip she is about 4 1/2 years old. She’s been super chill, does well hanging out in her crate, housetrained, and loves other dogs.

We’ll be getting her to the vet for a check up and vaccines in the next few weeks. Right now she appears to be very healthy and chunky 🥰

We took in a new little family of pups recently. We originally thought there were only three littermates but when we got to the shelter we found out there were two others. We couldn’t leave them behind so we took all five. Please keep us in your thoughts as we navigate puppyhood again 😂
