THERE’S STILL TIME TO APPLY! Our E-Bike Incentive Program is still accepting applications and we have room for a few more! SABA is offering free e-bikes through a lottery selection process for eligible Sacramento residents who live in one of the participating ZIP codes and meet the income requirements.

📍 Eligible ZIP codes: 95820, 95822, 95823, 95824, 95828 & 95832

🚲 Selected participants will get to choose between two e-bike options:

Aventon Level 4 REC Step-Through
Aventon Abound SR

AFTERSHOCK BIKE DETOUR ALERT!

Aftershock is almost here, and that means some closures to know about if you’re riding through the area. Riding to Aftershock? Good news: you can still bike to the show, just plan around the trail closure.

The Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail/American River Bike Trail through Discovery Park will be closed from 11:59 PM Wednesday, Sept. 30 through 5 AM Monday, Oct. 5.

On festival days, riders should follow the posted detour signs around Discovery Park between the Jibboom Street and Natomas Park Drive bridges.

And when you get there, SABA’s FREE Bike Valet will be ready for you! 🚲🤘 Bike Valet corrals will be located near the festival entrance on both the Garden Hwy and Jibboom St. sides of the festival grounds.

Aftershock has put together a bike detour map to help riders navigate around the closures ...so we’re sharing it here for the SABA fam.

WE’LL SEE YOU AT SMUD’S CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY RESOURCE EXPO! Ride Ready Repair will be out at SMUD’s Connecting Our Community Resource Expo on Thursday, October 1!

We’ll be there with FREE Ride Ready bike repair, helping folks get their bikes tuned up and ready to roll. 🔧🚲

The expo brings together 30+ community organizations offering resources and services for Sacramento-area families and residents and we’re excited to be part of it!

🚨 AFTERSHOCK + THE AMERICAN RIVER BIKE TRAIL: PLAN AHEAD🚨

Aftershock Festival is coming to Discovery Park October 1–4, and that means some changes for folks using the American River Parkway Multi-Use Trail. Here’s what you need to know:

📅 Sept. 23–30
The trail will remain OPEN, but a slight detour will be in place. Expect possible delays.

🚨 Oct. 1–4 — TRAIL CLOSED
The American River Bike Trail will be closed during Aftershock. A detour will be in place from Garden Highway to the Highway 160 overpass and into downtown.

📅 Oct. 5–10
The trail will reopen with a slight detour, and delays may occur as festival teardown wraps up.

Help us give the Del Rio Trail a little love! Join SABA and the City of Sacramento on Saturday, October 3, from 9am–12pm for a community workday along the Del Rio Trail at Pocket Road.

We’ll be spending the morning:
🌱 Planting native plants
🌳 Mulching around trees
🧹 Picking up trash
🌿 Clearing weeds along the trail

No experience necessary, and all tools and supplies will be provided. Just bring a refillable water bottle, sun protection, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Closed-toe shoes recommended! Youth groups and students can also receive credit for volunteer hours.

📍 Del Rio Trail at Pocket Road
🚲 There is no dedicated parking at this location, so biking, walking, drop-off, or legal street parking are encouraged.

🚲⚡ THE E-BIKE INCENTIVE PROGRAM OPENS THIS THURSDAY!

Starting September 24 at 10am, SABA is offering free e-bikes to eligible low-income Sacramento residents through a lottery selection process.

If you live in one of the eligible Sacramento ZIP codes AND meet the income requirements, you can apply for the voucher program and be entered into the lottery.

The Sacramento Bicycle Compass is almost here! Created through a partnership between SABA and UC Davis’ Institute of Transportation Studies, with funding from the Office of Traffic Safety, the Bicycle Compass is a web-based tool filled with data to help you better understand how safe Sacramento’s streets are... and what types of changes could make them safer!

The tool brings together information from a variety of sources to help you explore street safety in neighborhoods across Sacramento.
