🐾🐶 Marlene came to us over a year ago after being surrendered to the Sacramento SPCA when her owners of eight years could no longer afford her care. After a couple of months in a foster home, she found an excellent placement with an older couple and immediately bonded with the woman.


🕊 Over the next year, Marlene, aka P***y, remained a steadfast companion to her "Mama" through the loss of her husband and her own subsequent illness. Marlene never left her side through various treatments until her mama sadly passed away.

Marlene is fiercely devoted. She tends to bond very strongly with one woman in the household, following her around and wanting to be involved in whatever she’s doing. She is the ultimate loyal little friend and companion.

We want to make sure Marlene's next home is her forever home. She is 9 years old and weighs around 18 lbs (though she could stand to lose a few, lol!). She has plenty of great years ahead of her, and we want to make them amazing!

🤨Marlene's Quirks & Ideal Home:

Only-Dog Household: Although she occasionally likes to play with other dogs, she can become possessive of the person she bonds with. Because of this, she would do best as the only dog in the home.

Selective with Strangers: She is picky about the people she meets and usually greets visitors with a few minutes of barking until she calms down.

Marlene deserves another chance to make a family happy with her endless affection and attention. She is very comfortable just sitting and napping by your side, but she also loves to cuddle. As a bonus, she is a master fly hunter—if she hears even a little buzz in the room, she’s off to catch it! Her little doe eyes 😍, whether begging for love or a bite of dinner, are completely irresistible.

❤ Baby Boy...Sweet Boy...Cutie Pie...My Sweet Baby Boy... All the names his foster mama calls this loving and cuddly fella.

Sean is still available and whoever adopts him is going to be so happy. He rarely barks, he is picking up the potty training, and his sweet demeanor makes him a good pal for other dogs or kids. Even with his quirks, he will make his future family proud. He's around 15-20 lbs, roughly 2 years old. He can be a little timid at first, but warms up to be a sweet loverboy.

Looking for a puppy? Our friend at Unbounded K9 has just the one you may be looking for. Likely border collie mixes, 4 months old. Reach out to them if you are interested!

Lena's siblings are looking for homes!

Lena and her siblings wandered onto a property in a rural area looking for help. We don't know if they were dumped or wandered from another property but it was just the puppies, no mom. The property owner fed and cared for them and has taken them to the vet for vaccinations. She decided to keep Lena and sent her to us for training. Local shelters and rescues have been unwilling to help so far so we are helping as we can!

There are 3 girls (Trixie, Cookie, and Wynonna) and 1 boy (Rio). They are presumed by the vet to be appriximately 4 month old border collie mixes. They all have different personalities and we are providing services to help match each puppy to the right family. Additionally, Unbounded K9 is offering free training to all the puppies and adopters to help get started on the right paw!

They are incredibly sweet and loving. They are started on potty training and crate training as well as other basic commands!

Slow and steady. 🕰 That's how we're taking it with one of our new pups, Perry.

This shy girl was originally a stray and had a tough time getting acclimated to her new surroundings at the shelter. The world is very scary for her right now and we are giving her the space and time she needs to settle in.

For now, we will enjoy the wins when she gives us a boop or sniffs our hand after a treat. ❤🐾 She won't be available for adoption just yet, but this sweet, beautiful girl will eventually need to find her forever home. We'll keep you posted on her progress!

She's around 2 years old, 25 pounds and likely a basenji mix.
