California Lions Foundation CLF matching grants are provided to enhance and enable California Lions clubs to provide even greater service to their local communities.

California Lions Foundation (CLF) is a California nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation with the sole purpose to provide financial grants to CA Lions Clubs who serve their communities. MISSION STATEMENT
California Lions Foundation (CLF) is a California, non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c) (3) corporation with the sole purpose to provide matching financial grants to California Lions Clubs. BENEFIT STATEMENT
Matching financial grants will be available to clubs and districts to meet various needs and projects in their respective communities through a Grant Application process. Grant criteria is specified to assure that CLF does not duplicate services or grants already available from another foundation or source. The dollar range of CLF grants will be focused on projects from $500 to $10,000. This will eliminate any potential duplication in grants availablefrom LCIF.

ORANGE COVE LIONS - Some how California Lions foundation has a way of bringing together a community. The CLF grant allowed us to purchase backpacks for two events! "Backpacks for Tomorrows Leaders" event was held at the Orange Cove Library, at first only our Club and the Fresno County Library were involved. Then the city of Orange Cove wanted to partner also and they brought along some backpacks of their own. We were able to give out 40 backpacks for this event. We saved the other backpacks for our next event National Night out 10/3/2026. Orange Cove Lions had a booth at the event where we placed our remaining backpacks and school supplies. Chief Pena took several backpacks for children who need one in case of an emergency at his department. OC lions served over 150 people, along with booths from Police, Fire, Boys and Girls Club, United Health, OC Senior Center, OC recreation sports, and animal control. This wouldn’t be possible to serve our community without the CLF grant!

ATWATER-WINTON LIONS - The Merced River School District was proud to stuff more than 50 backpacks with a variety of essential school supplies for our students supplied by CLF and our club. Richard Lopez, Merced River School District Superintendent stated: "We are incredibly grateful to the Atwater-Winton Lions Club and the California Lions Foundation for their generous donation and continued support of the Merced River School District Learning Community. As a single rural school district serving approximately 360 students, community partnerships like this make a meaningful difference. Because of the Lions Club's generosity, more than 50 of our students will begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for investing in our students and helping create brighter futures! We are stronger when our community comes together for our children! SALINAS HOST LIONS - The Salinas Host Lions Club packed 35 backpacks with glue sticks, small notebooks, kids safety scissors, crayons and a pencil case that contained a manual pencil sharpener, erasers and pencils. This is the second year we have taken on this project. These kids are part of the migrant/seasonal Head Start Program in South Monterey County. We have partnered with the teachers both times and anticipate making this an annual event for our Club. Thank you CLF for making this possible!

SACRAMENTO CAMELLIA LIONS - The Club purchased food, school materials, and hygienic supplies for 60-70 students enrolled at Cosumnes River College (CRC) and who may experience food insecurity or benefit from additional food resources. The Hawk CARES Food Market is an inclusive, dignified space, committed to meeting students' needs with compassionate food distribution and support. On 08/28/26, five club members delivered fresh eggs, frozen food, and shelf-stable foods to CRC Hawk Cares Center where a representative welcomed us and provided an insightful tour of their services. Thank you CLF for this new experience!

RIO LINDA LIONS - The funds provided by CLF were used to purchase yarn for the Magic Yarn Program. Magic Yarn is a non-profit origination that supplies yarn wigs for our youngest cancer patients. There are many steps in the wig making process. Our Lions Club measured, cut and bundled yarn that will be used to represent hair on the wigs. These wigs bring sunshine and hope to the children who wear them.
Each character wig that goes out in Magic Yarn comes with a card that matches. The card gives a history of who worked on the wig. It brings such warmth to the family at their great time of need to see the many names on the card and know that so many people gave of their time for their child. These might seem like small jobs but put these small parts together and you get a whole lot of magic.

WOODLAND HOST LIONS - The project distributed 540 File of Life packets, providing residents with a tool intended to improve the availability of critical medical information during an emergency. This particularly benefited seniors and other residents who may be more likely to have complex medical histories, take multiple medications, have advance directives, or
require assistance from emergency personnel. It also benefited first responders. By making important medical information available at the location where an emergency occurs and can help responders obtain information when the patient cannot reliably provide it.
The project also established a continuing community outreach opportunity for Woodland Host Lions. Rather than limiting distribution to a single event, Lions members incorporated File of Life distribution into several community activities and worked with organizations serving seniors and the broader community. The California Lions Foundation grant made it possible for Woodland Host Lions to significantly expand this first-responder initiative and bring the File of Life program to substantially more residents.

SAN DIEGO UNITED LIONS - Our receipt of CLF funds enabled our club to provide protein bars for inclusion in nutrition kits for homeless veterans at Veterans Village San Diego (VVSD) Stand Down. VVSD staff member Karen Moy articulated her gratitude for the donation:

“Thank you to SDULC and California Lions Foundation for your donation of 22 cases of CLIF bars that will add much needed protein to the nutrition bags handed out to homeless veterans at the VVSD Stand Down. While the Lions have historically helped our Stand Down care for veterans in so many ways, this donation adds a dimension of impact beyond Lions manning our care stations and the vision care being provided by the Lions Optometric Vision Clinic (LOVC) volunteers. VVSD addresses the most critical needs of veterans during Stand Down and shelf stable protein is one of those critical nutrients needed by homeless veterans. VVSD will be delivering a more nutritious food kit as a direct result of this donation and VVSD is grateful for all that the Lions, in partnership with VVSD, do for our veterans.”

Many Lions converged on the VVSD Stand Down location to care for our veterans and we are proud of how the Lions and the California Lions Foundation are able to work together to have greater impact for the Veteran Community in San Diego. Thank you again for placing confidence in SDULC by approving the grant.
