ECE Voices advocates for inclusion and continuity of care (birth - 12) with support that actually helps Contractors serve ALL children.

🎯 What inclusion means:
âś“ Children with disabilities fully participate
âś“ Dual language learners are supported
âś“ Cultural and linguistic diversity is valued
âś“ All families feel welcome and respected

📚 What Contractors need to serve all children:
- Useful technical assistance (not just generic advice)
- Materials you can actually implement
- Coaching that’s practical and relevant
- Resources that reflect diverse communities
- Funding that covers additional support needs

⏰ Continuity of care matters: Children benefit when they can stay with:
• The same provider as they grow
• Programs that serve multiple age groups
• Systems that don’t force transitions based on funding eligibility

đźš« Current barriers:
- Different funding streams with different age cutoffs
- Lack of infant/toddler slots
- School-age care treated as separate from ECE
- Insufficient support for children with special needs

✊ ECE Voices fights for:
âś“ Aligned birth-12 systems
âś“ Increased infant/toddler capacity
âś“ Real support for inclusion (not just mandates)
âś“ Resources Contractors can use immediately Every child deserves access.

Every provider deserves support to welcome all children.

EveryChild California stands with Head Start California and MomsRising.org to protect Head Start and the children, families, and communities it serves.

Proposed federal rule changes would eliminate many of the standards that make Head Start a trusted source of high-quality early learning and comprehensive support for children and families. We need your help to ensure these critical protections and the services children and families depend on remain in place.

Join us today for National Call-In Day. Urge Congress to tell HHS to rescind these harmful rule changes and protect Head Start.

“I Want to Advocate, But Where Do I Start?”

We hear this question a lot. Here’s the simple answer:

STEP 1: Join ECE Voices (free for subsidized Contractors)

STEP 2: Attend your first regional meeting.
You'll meet your Lead Advocate and connect with Contractors in your area.

STEP 3: Start with one small action
- Share your story at a meeting
- Sign a letter to your legislator
- Attend a training session
- Follow ECE Voices on social media

STEP 4: Build from there. As you get comfortable, you can:
- Write testimony for hearings
- Meet with legislative staff
- Participate in advocacy days
- Mentor other Contractors

đź’ˇ Remember: Every experienced advocate started exactly where you are now.

✨ You don’t need to:
- Be an expert on policy
- Have tons of time
- Be a confident public speaker
- Know all the legislative jargon

✨ You just need to:
- Care about the ECE field
- Be willing to share your experience
- Show up when you can

That’s it. We’ll teach you the rest.

Ready? Let’s go. 💪

📢 Families Deserve Clear Answers

“What’s the difference between CSPP, TK, and vouchers?” “How do I know if I qualify?” “Where do I even start?”

🤔 If YOU find California’s ECE system confusing, imagine how families feel.

🎯 ECE Voices advocates for plain-language UPK communications:
What families need to know:
âś“ UPK is a coordinated set of programs (CSPP, TK, vouchers, etc.)
✓ It’s NOT a single funding stream
✓ Here’s what each option is
✓ Here’s how to participate
✓ Here’s where to get help

đź’ˇ Why this matters:
Families can’t access what they don’t understand. Complex eligibility rules, confusing acronyms, and fragmented information create barriers—especially for:
- Families whose first language isn’t English
- Working parents with limited time to navigate systems
- Communities historically excluded from services

âś… ECE Voices fights for:
• Clear, jargon-free communications
• Materials in multiple languages
• Centralized information families can actually use
• Consistent messaging across agencies

🚪 Access starts with information.

When families understand their options, they can make informed choices. When Contractors can explain the system clearly, everyone benefits.
