City Church Sacramento

City Church Sacramento City Church of Sacramento is a vibrant Christian community devoted to loving God wholeheartedly and extending that love to others. What does that look like?

Join us for uplifting worship, meaningful Bible study and authentic connection as we grow together in faith and purpose. We are a community that desires to gather and worship in a manner reflective of heaven. It looks like our city and communities, made of people from all cultures, races and social and economic backgrounds (Revelation 7:9). Although there exists a tendency to default to the things

that we are comfortable with and know to do, Christians are called to live differently, intentionally (1 Peter 2:9). This means that the mosaic that is the Christian community is not just great training for our eternal home but is the mandated opportunity to destroy the things that divide us: racially and culturally-rooted ignorance that leads to distrust, as well as social and economic barriers. We believe that through mosaic Christian communities lives will be changed, neighborhoods served and our city transformed.

Hebrews 9:11-28 reveals Jesus Christ as our perfect High Priest who entered the heavenly sanctuary and secured eternal redemption through His own blood. Unlike the repeated sacrifices of the old covenant, Christ's sacrifice was offered once for all, providing complete forgiveness and cleansing of the conscience. Nate Houston shares that through His death, He established a new covenant and secured an eternal inheritance for believers. As Christ bore the sins of many, we now live in the assurance of salvation and the hope of His glorious return.

Hebrews 9:1–10 describes the regulations and furnishings of the earthly tabernacle established under the old covenant. The author explains the arrangement of the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, where priests performed regular ministry and the high priest entered once a year with sacrificial blood for sins. Wes Ehrhart shares that these rituals symbolized temporary worship practices that could not fully cleanse the conscience, pointing forward to a greater and more complete way of access to God.
