Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, we're honoring leaders who have been nominated by fellow members of the for their leadership, service, and lasting impact on education.

Today, we celebrate Ilsa Garza-Gonzalez, Superintendent of Fallbrook Union High School District, whose leadership is rooted in courage, belonging, and creating meaningful opportunities for students and families.

Ilsa leads with both heart and purpose, challenging systems and long-standing practices while building the trust and relationships needed to create lasting change. Through her leadership, she has worked to ensure students feel prioritized and Latino/Hispanic families feel represented, welcomed, and heard in their schools and district.

Her impact also extends to the leaders around her. As a mentor, particularly to Latina/Hispanic/Mexican women in educational leadership, Ilsa encourages others to recognize their own potential, find their place at the table, and open doors for those who will follow.

Thank you to the CALSA member who nominated Ilsa and helped us recognize her incredible contributions to educational leadership.

Currently serving as Administrative Director of Human Resources for Corona-Norco USD, Dr. Rodriguez brings 25 years of educational leadership rooted in service, mentorship, and building opportunities for others.

A first-generation college graduate, she has dedicated her career to supporting students, developing leaders, and creating environments where individuals are inspired to grow.

As President of the IE Chapter, Dr. Rodriguez will continue building meaningful connections, expanding professional learning, and strengthening leadership opportunities for educational leaders throughout the region.
