The California Immunization Coalition stands with the CDPH and the West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA) who released a joint statement today, reinforcing that the WCHA’s position on childhood vaccine guidance has not changed.

"The West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA) bases its recommendations for vaccinations on guidelines from trusted professional medical and health organizations representing millions of healthcare providers, reflecting a broad consensus on the safety and benefits of the recommended immunizations. The Executive Order issued by the White House regarding childhood vaccine schedule recommendations does not change the WCHA’s position on evidenced-based vaccine guidance."

HPV is incredibly common. Today, HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer is the most common HPV-associated cancer in the United States.

The good news is that we have an opportunity to help prevent many HPV-related cancers through vaccination.
