! CPSC-sponsored bill AB 904 (Aguiar-Curry) was amended to a carpet stewardship program update! Originally AB 80, the new bill number AB 904, updates the current provisions for California's carpet stewardship program for more transparency and efficiency. The industry and program stakeholders have been actively engaged the last year providing technical assistance for these amended provisions. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the San Joaquin County Textile Recovery Education Event!

Hosted by CPSC in partnership with San Joaquin County Public Works and funded by CalRecycle, the event was filled with engaging discussions and interactive activities focused on textile recovery, reuse, and recycling both locally in San Joaquin County and broadly in the state of California.

Attendees learned more about SB 707 and emerging textile recovery infrastructure, participated in hands-on reuse activities, and explored community-driven efforts including student-led outreach initiatives and models for textile collection, repair, and redistribution.
