Hope NLC Building a community of lifelong learners! We offer two main programs: Hope Literacy and Hope Tech. Hope Tech is is designed around S.T.E.A.M.

Hope Technologies Sacramento Inc, doing business as Hope Neighborhood Learning Center, is a community development based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on serving youth through mentoring, discovery and encouragement. Hope Literacy is a literacy intervention program designed to help children children overcome academic challenges and be inspired in lifelong learning. (Science, Technology,

Engineering, Arts and Math) where students learn 21st century skills to create their own platformer games.

We are building a literacy app based on phonemic awareness to support struggling readers in 4th-6th grade.

Here’s what we have done so far
- Created the base code
- Outlined the learning progression
- Outlined the details for level one
- Figured out the basic logic to gamify the learning process

It's Giving Tuesday! You can partner with Hope NLC where our programs foster mentorship and build a community of life long learners in the Sacramento area. Hope Tech walks students through basic programming and other 21st century skills through video game development. Hope Literacy is a fun and engaging 1 on 1 reading program designed with a customized plan for each student. You can give at Hopenlc.org

We have finished our last week of summer camp! We ended camp with some very fun and exciting activities for the kids. The kids did a craft making an infinite cube. They also got the chance to learn how to play volleyball and spent some time putting into practice the skills they learned. They played water games, made their own mini foosball game, learned some basic first aid skills and what to do in the case of a medical emergency. They also finished their Hope Tech games, had an opportunity to showcase them on the projector, and then took turns playing each other's games. They also went to Sun Splash for their Wednesday field trip! All around the summer camp was a very exciting experience for the kids. It would not have been possible without all the help and support that was received from Growing Past Today. We are beyond thankful for the involvement of volunteers and organizations from the community. We would like to give a special thanks to Growing Past Today, Miss Suzann is always going above and beyond for the kids in the community. We would also like to thank One Church Sacramento, Fair Oaks Rotary, and Fruitridge Community Collaborative.

The kids got to go on an off campus field trip where they all received brand new bikes! Special thanks to Growing Past Today, the Fair Oaks Rotary Club, the Fair Oaks Bike Park, and NorCal Golden Retriever Rescue for providing non stop fun. They had a blast spending the day riding their new bikes around, playing with dogs, and had breakfast and lunch provided by the Fair Oaks Rotary Club. When they returned for camp the next day, they made their own mosaic art, traveled to Europe for lunch, continued to work on their Hope Tech games, and even learned how to make their own cleaning products which they were very excited to test.

We wrapped up our third week of summer camp! This week was very special for the kids. In the beginning of the week the kids had lots of fun playing a couple of water games outside. They also got to make their very own dream board! The kids had lots of fun using pictures and words to dream up their future. They continued making their computer games with Hope Tech, and traveled to a variety of Asian countries during lunch.
