Meet the people who help bring Deer Creek Hills to life. 🌿

Our incredible docents volunteer their time to lead hikes, guide equestrian and mountain bike rides, share the stories of this special landscape, and help visitors connect with the land.

This year’s Treasures of the Valley celebrates Deer Creek Hills and the 26th anniversary of its permanent protection, and we’re celebrating the people who help make this place meaningful to our community.

A lot has changed over the years, but some of our favorite traditions remain the same with live music, a silent auction, delicious farm-to-fork cuisine, meaningful conversations, and a shared passion for protecting open space. đź’š

This week, the SVC staff spent a day retreating together, combining field learning, team discussion, new site prospecting, and a bit of long-range planning. We connected, played some games, got our boots on the ground, and enjoyed a fresh, beautiful, locally grown lunch and Karly’s homemade, super yum cookies! 💚 Do you recognize or have visited these local preserves?

WYLD Volunteer day today! We were also joined by some volunteers from our friends at Friendship Force to accomplish trail maintenance and invasive plant removal.
