Yesterday, our VP of Membership, Melanie Ripley, attended the Dedication Ceremony for Congregational Place, Retirement Housing Foundation's newest community in Chula Vista, CA. Congregational Place is a newly built 55-unit community offering one-bedroom apartments for adults 55+, with easy access to local bus, metro, and shuttle services, along with the shops and restaurants of Old Town Chula Vista. This development is the result of a collaboration between Community Congregational Development Corporation (CCDC) and RHF, bringing much-needed affordable housing to older adults in the region.

🎉💚 Celebrating milestones like this alongside our members is what makes this work so meaningful.

Amber King, Vice President for Legislative Affairs, testified before the California Senate Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services on the barriers older adults and providers face in accessing home- and community-based services.

Amber urged lawmakers to strengthen California’s long-term care continuum by addressing affordable housing, reducing administrative delays, improving consistency across CalAIM, and ensuring older adults can access the services they need to remain safely in their homes and communities.

We appreciate the Legislature’s attention to these critical issues and are proud to advocate for policies that expand access, choice, and stability for California’s older adults.

Yesterday, our Government Affairs team attended POLITICO’s The California Agenda: Sacramento Summit, bringing together state and federal leaders, policymakers, and 2026 gubernatorial candidates for conversations about the most pressing issues facing California.

From affordability and the economy to health care, housing, and the state’s relationship with Washington, D.C., the discussions offered important insight into the policy landscape ahead.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to hear directly from California’s leaders and to stay engaged in the conversations shaping the future of our state and the older adults and providers we serve.
