Expanding our scope of practice to include root planning, curettage, local anesthesia, subgingivally placed antimicrobials and now the use of any new technology within our scope with the proper education and training. Our own Dental Hygiene Board of California has brought professional autonomy to dental hygienists, the first dental hygiene board
