The Bay Area Dental Expo is just a few days away, and there is still time to register.

ACDS is proud to be part of this year's event, taking place August 21–22 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The program covers AI-assisted diagnostics, chairside 3D printing, laser therapies, oral systemic medicine, teledentistry, and more, with dedicated sessions for both dentists and their teams. CE credits are available for main stage presentations, and ADA/CDA members can attend for as little as $59 after coalition society discounts.

ACDS is proud to support access to oral health care in our community through upcoming volunteer screening events this summer and fall.

Our Community Outreach Committee is looking for dentists, hygienists, and assistants to join us for youth dental screenings in Oakland. Volunteer opportunities are available on multiple dates and at different locations throughout the area.

Volunteering is a meaningful way to give back while serving the families and children who need it most.

Happy National Fresh Breath Day! Fresh breath is often a sign that things are working as they should, but when it is not, it can be one of the earliest indicators worth a closer look.

Alameda County Dental Society knows that for dental professionals, changes in a patient's breath can point to periodontal disease, dry mouth, or a restoration that may need attention. It is a small detail that carries real diagnostic value.

The Bay Area Dental Expo returns August 21–22 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, and ACDS is proud to be part of it.

Patient records requests are a routine part of practice, but knowing the rules helps dental professionals handle them with confidence and consistency.

Under California law and HIPAA, patients have the right to access their records, including copies of X-rays, within defined timeframes. Practices can charge reasonable fees for fulfillment but may not delay access due to an outstanding account balance. When a summary is provided in lieu of full records, additional requirements and timelines apply.
