On this Veterans Day we would like to recognize all LGBT Veterans who have served our country even when this country denied them basics rights afforded to all. Despite the lack of support from the very country they enlisted to fight for, they proved their honor and fought for the freedoms for all Americans. Remember, not only is it important to give thanks to Veterans on this Veterans Day, but it is equally important to lend your support in the way of monetary donations and/or the giving of your time to organizations that assist Veterans. We specifically suggest Sacramento Valley Veterans (SVV).. supporter of LGBT Veterans here in the Sacramento Region.

The gay widow of a soldier killed in Afghanistan has received word from the Department of Veterans Affairs that she will receive the same full benefits that heteros*xual widows and widowers receive.

This is nothing short of amazing. If only our own country could find the courage to show this type of support.
