CMFI College Opens New Specialist Classrooms
Today marks an unusual date for CMFI College as they all celebrate the official opening of the new three-story building that accommodates eight specialist classrooms.
The CMFI College principal, Mrs Sisilia Racule said that what she witnessed today is nothing short of a miracle , particularly at a time when there is very little to celebrate as covid-19 has wreaked havoc in all Society, the government, the economy and also in the church.
“Despite all of that we can see the indelible fingerprints of God working. We are here to celebrate His goodness. At the same time to acknowledge your sacrifices in making this vision a reality.
“These specialist rooms are an encouragement to us to work harder, to be worthy of the invaluable investment
This year marks the seventh year of the existence of the CMFI College since its Inception in 2015, 3 years at its Senior Primary School site and four years on its present location.
The school board of directors, Pastor Emosi Toroca said that the journey of the school was not an easy experience.
“At the commencement of the school, the Ministry of Education promised to fund the development of CMFI college, right after year 13. But unfortunately, this didn’t happen
“The Ministry of Education withdrew funding of the CMFI college because CMF College was new to the Ministry of Education. We were affected by the Ever-Changing systems in the ministry as well as the introduction of the open merit recruitment system.
“We were also challenged by the availability of the special classrooms facilities and equipment for Effective learning. The situation has been worsened by covid-19 or coronavirus, as it had disrupted teaching and learning to students through periodic closures of the school.
Despite the challenges that the school had gone through, it had brought out the best in many people in being consistent with the vision of the school, excellent achieving, through Christ-centred education. This journey was all orchestrated by God that enabled the completion of this three-story building facility.
The three-story building; was officially opened by the Chief Guest, the Founder & President of CMF International, Reverend Suliasi Kurulo.
Before cutting the ribbon to mark the official opening, Rev. Kurulo took time to thank everyone involved in the building project and also for the support from many individuals.
He says that he hopes that the students will enjoy the building and the tutors will use the building to train and prepare our future leaders. To become a useful Citizen and also a responsible citizen in the years to come.
“We always believe as a church in everything that you do. You must do it with a spirit of Excellence.
“We love the facility because when we were building this building, I told the committee that we need to develop the classrooms or to build the classrooms that have a high elevation so that students can always look further and Envision their lives in what they will become tomorrow from a high vantage point.
Concluding his speech, Rev. Kurulo said that we can all declare the Goodness and the faithfulness of God today, He is a faithful God and our God is a good God as He always fulfils what he places in the hearts of his people.
The CMFI College started its operation in 2015 without any special classrooms, but today many witnessed a new chapter. The three-story building accommodates eight classrooms, this includes the Library, Science Lab, Technical Drawing Room which will host the AutoCAD program, Welding and fabrication workshop, Carpentry & Joinery Workshop, Home Economic Rooms, Food and Nutrition Lab, Clothing and textile room and The School chaplains’ rooms. Today is indeed a special day where all these specialist classrooms are now made available to the students.
