Youth Forward will be hosting the Sacramento EMS Corps Info and Application Workshops at Fruitridge Community Collaborative, Room 11 (4625 44th St, Sacramento, CA 95820) this Friday (May 29, 2026) and next Friday (June 5, 2026) from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.🖊🗒🙋‍♀️🚑🧯

The Info Session is Friday, May 29th, 2026 @ 6 PM - 8 PM
The Application Session is Friday, June 5th, 2026 @ 6 PM - 8 PM

Please come out and join us as we talk about the benefits of pursuing a career in emergency medical services, the requirements to join the Sacramento EMS Corps Program, and what you can expect to learn if accepted into the training program during our info session; we will also be helping answer questions about the application process for those interested in participating during our application session!

As a reminder, the application cycle for Cohort 4 officially opened in late April and the projected application/interview dates are as follows:

🔵 Application Due: July 19, 2026 @ 11:59 PM

🔵 Application Review: July 20 - 31, 2026

🔵 Interview Scheduling: August 3 - 7, 2026

🔵 In-person Interviews: August 10 - 21, 2026

Our executive director Jim Keddy wrote an op-ed about California failing to uphold its promise to protect children under cannabis legalization. Take a read.

OPINION – California voters were promised something simple and reasonable when they approved cannabis legalization under Proposition 64: a tightly regulated industry that would fund youth programs, protect children, and operate responsibly. Nearly a decade later, that promise has been broken.
