Honoring a legacy of advocacy! 💙

This Thursday, Youth Forward is proud to recognize our Founder and former Executive Director, Jim Keddy with an award!

Throughout his career, Jim has been a tireless champion for young people – advocating for youth funding, community resources, and equity both in Sacramento and across California. As he semi-retired this past August, we are excited to gather, celebrate his incredible impact, and send him off warmly into his next chapter.

Help us give Jim the celebration he deserves!

🎉 Join us for dinner, music, community, and a special raffle featuring 4 lower-level Sacramento Kings vs. Miami Heat tickets! This Thursday, Oct 8th from 6–8 PM at Tsakopoulos Library Galleria. Address: 828 I St, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Shining a spotlight on youth leadership! 🌿✨🤎

We are thrilled to honor Lozen Miranda-Brightman, an outstanding youth leader from our local community and an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, at our 2nd Children’s Champion Award Celebration!

Over the last few years, with support from Native Youth Forward, Lozen has spearheaded the creation of an Indigenous garden in North Sacramento. She also courageously led the successful campaign to remove harmful, stereotypical Native imagery from Hiram Johnson High School, creating lasting change for students and the broader community.

Come celebrate Lozen and all of our 2026 honorees this Thursday evening!

Where: Tsakopoulos Library Galleria
When: Thursday, October 8th | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
What: Enjoy dinner, dancing, and enter our raffle for 4 lower-level Sacramento Kings tickets!

Celebrate local heroes! 🚒✨

We are beyond proud to recognize the incredible team at the Sacramento Fire Department as one of our honorees at this year’s Children’s Champion Award Celebration!

Sac Fire leads the Sacramento EMS Corps, a paid job training program that prepares young adults for careers as EMTs, firefighters, and healthcare workers, specifically supporting youth impacted by foster care, homelessness, or the justice system.
