Introducing TEAM’s Guardian Circle — our new monthly giving program created for donors who want to provide reliable, ongoing support for animals at Bradshaw Animal Shelter.

Some needs can’t wait. Animals may need urgent medical care, spay/neuter support, behavioral help, recovery care, or other lifesaving resources before they can heal and find homes. Monthly donations give TEAM a steady foundation to respond when those needs arise.

By joining the Guardian Circle, your monthly gift helps TEAM continue funding critical support for shelter animals, including:
Medical care and specialty treatment
- Spay and neuter efforts
- Behavioral support and training
- Recovery and comfort needs
- Lifesaving programs that help animals get a second chance

Guardian Circle giving levels include:
Comfort Guardian – $25/month
Care Guardian – $50/month
Medical Guardian – $75/month
Legacy Guardian – $100/month

All Guardian Circle members receive special recognition, annual impact updates, website and social media recognition, and an invitation to TEAM’s annual donor appreciation event. Legacy Guardians will also receive special recognition during Guardian Circle campaigns and events.

🎉 Every shelter dog deserves a birthday worth celebrating.

Today marks the start of DOGUST—the birthday month for shelter dogs whose actual birthdays are unknown. It’s a reminder that every animal deserves to be loved, celebrated, and given a second chance.

To celebrate, all dog adoption fees are FREE throughout the month of August as part of the Clear the Shelters campaign—making this the perfect time to welcome a new best friend into your family. ❤️

We’re kicking off the month by celebrating Nala and cheering on every adoptable pet waiting for a loving home.

Check out the flyer below for all the details, then stop by Bradshaw Animal Shelter and help make a birthday wish come true.

Happy DOGUST! 🐾🐕🎂

🏆 We’re honored to be nominated once again for Sacramento Favorites’ Favorite Animal Nonprofit!

Last year, your support helped TEAM Bradshaw earn this incredible recognition. We are grateful to be nominated again and would be honored to have your vote.

This recognition represents more than an award. It helps shine a light on the importance of investing in lifesaving animal welfare and the impact our community can make when we come together.

Every day, TEAM works alongside Bradshaw Animal Shelter to remove barriers to adoption by funding specialized medical care, lifesaving surgeries, behavior support, rescue partnerships, and spay/neuter programs that help reduce pet overpopulation before animals ever enter the shelter. Because of your support, animals who might not otherwise have a chance are given one.

Your vote helps raise awareness of our mission, strengthens community support for animal welfare, and allows us to continue providing second chances to the animals who need us most.

❤️‍🩹 If you believe every animal deserves a chance, we’d be honored to have your vote for TEAM Bradshaw as Sacramento’s Favorite Animal Nonprofit.

And while you’re there, please consider voting for Bradshaw Animal Shelter in all of its nominated categories. Every day, their dedicated staff and volunteers provide compassionate care, lifesaving services, and second chances to thousands of animals in our community. Their commitment deserves to be recognized, and we are proud to stand beside them in this lifesaving work.

🗳️ Vote daily through August 7!

Thank you for believing in our mission. 🐾💙

👑 Cinderella Needs Your Help

Meet Cinderella, a 4-year-old shelter dog who has been diagnosed with bilateral cherry eye (pr*****ed third eyelid glands).

Cherry eye is a common condition in dogs that occurs when the tear gland behind the third eyelid slips out of place, creating the red, swollen tissue visible in the corner of the eye. While it isn’t usually an emergency, it can cause chronic irritation, discomfort, inflammation, and reduced tear production if left untreated.

The good news? Cherry eye is highly treatable. Early surgical repair by a veterinary ophthalmologist offers an excellent prognosis and helps preserve normal tear production and long-term eye health. Because both of Cinderella’s glands are significantly enlarged, the shelter's veterinary team has recommended that her procedure be performed by a specialist to give her the best possible outcome.

Her surgery is estimated at $3,017.08.

TEAM exists to ensure treatable medical conditions don’t become barriers to adoption. When shelter veterinarians identify animals needing specialized care beyond routine treatment, donor support allows us to step in and say “yes.”

Your donation helps fund Cinderella’s surgery—and ensures we’re ready to help the next shelter animal needing specialized medical care.

If you’d like to help Cinderella and future animals like her, please consider making a donation today.

One of our favorite things at TEAM Bradshaw is receiving updates from our alumni and seeing the before-and-after transformations made possible through donor support. ❤️

Last year, Maisie entered Bradshaw Animal Shelter as a “final plea” dog suffering from severe skin issues that left her struggling to stand on her own. TEAM stepped in to help fund the medical care needed to begin treatment and support the path toward adoption.

Today, Maisie is thriving in a loving home. Her story is a reminder of why TEAM plays such a critical role in helping shelter animals with medical needs beyond the shelter’s normal capacity or resources.

Skin-related medical cases like Maisie’s are becoming increasingly common in the shelter environment and often require ongoing treatment to improve comfort, quality of life, and adoptability. Without additional support, many of these animals face an increased risk of euthanasia.

Donations to TEAM can be designated for “skin issues” in the donation description to help future shelter animals receive the medical care they need — just like Maisie did.

THANK YOU! 🤍 🐾

Every dollar raised represents hope. Hope for animals facing medical emergencies. Hope for animals at risk of being overlooked. Hope for second chances, healing, and loving homes.

This milestone is more than a fundraising number — it is real impact that will help save lives throughout the year at Bradshaw Animal Shelter and beyond. We are incredibly grateful to stand alongside a community that believes every animal deserves a chance.

Oreo, a 5-year-old dog was an owner surrender, struggling to breathe after a foxtail became lodged deep in her nose—a painful and potentially life-threatening condition that requires specialized care to safely remove.

The procedure needed? A rhinoscopy at a specialty veterinary clinic—something beyond the shelter’s available resources.

That’s where TEAM stepped in.

Because of donor support, TEAM approved funding for Oreo’s procedure, ensuring she received the urgent care needed to remove the foxtail and relieve her pain. ❤️‍🩹

This wasn’t just about treatment—it was about giving Oreo a real chance. Without this intervention, her condition could have worsened, impacting her health and her ability to be adopted.

This is what your donations make possible.

TEAM exists to bridge the gap—funding critical medical care that shelters can’t always cover, so dogs like Oreo don’t fall through the cracks.

And right now, your impact goes even further.

💥 All donations are matched today for —dollar for dollar—up to $50,000 up until midnight.

Every dollar you give helps unlock that match and directly funds life-saving care for animals who need it most.

Messy is a 4-month-old kitten who arrived at Bradshaw Animal Shelter with a persistent head tilt caused by a middle ear polyp. After an initial procedure failed to resolve the issue, specialists determined Messy needed advanced diagnostics and surgery beyond the shelter’s available resources.

TEAM stepped in to help fund the specialized care needed, including a head CT and a complex ventral bulla osteotomy surgery. Without this intervention, Messy’s condition could have continued to worsen and impacted his quality of life and adoptability.

Because of TEAM donors, shelter animals like Messy are able to receive critical medical care that gives them a real second chance. These are the cases that often fall outside normal shelter capacity, but they matter. Every successful outcome is only possible because our community chooses to step up for animals in need.

Today is , and donations to TEAM are currently being matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. Every donation helps unlock that match and directly supports future medical cases like Messy’s.

The more we raise, the more shelter animals we can save.

Please donate today. Your gift could be the reason the next shelter animal survives and gets a second chance.
