Dates are a fascinating crop produced in our state. We were able to see the harvest of dates at Hadley Date Farm, and the dates are bagged on the palm trees for protection of the crop from water, birds and insects. Did you know that the skilled palmeros who work in the date groves all year go up to work in the palms SIX times per year??

We are on Ag tours for the CWA 50th anniversary meeting. CWA members from throughout the state are touring local farms and agriculture in the Coachella Valley!

First stop - a local sweet corn farm where we tasted the most amazing corn straight from the field! We learned about how drones are used for crop input application. The time to earn certification to operate a drone is significant. However, it allows for much less crop inputs used and saves on costs.
