California Association of Legal Support Professionals (CALSPro) Constitution. CALSPro believes that every party to an action must be properly notified of such actions. CCPS stands for CALSPro Certified Process Server.

The California Association of Legal Support Professionals (CALSPro) is an association comprised of over 350 company and individual members who provide professional legal support services to the legal community. The California Association of Legal Support Professionals (CALSPro) is a member-driven organization focusing on the continued enforcement of the due process clause of the U.S. Formerly, the California Association of Photocopiers and Process Servers (CAPPS), the association changed its name in 2008 to better represent the diverse services the members provide to the legal community. In order to accomplish this goal, CALSPro has defeated many service by mail Legislative bills through the efforts of our legislative advocate. Further, CALSPro has a Legislative Committee dedicated to reading all proposed bills and making corrective suggestions. CALSPro defines itself based on four cornerstones: Legislative, Membership, Conference and Continuing Education. These cornerstones provide the necessary foundation to support the members. CALSPro also prides itself in offering our very own CCPS designation. Recipients of this designation have successfully passed a challenging, relevant seminar and exam.

📢 CALSPro Community Clarification: AB 2042

AB 2042 was signed into law on September 20, 2026, with changes taking effect January 1, 2027.

CALSPro has released a Community Clarification explaining what the new law means for service documentation and proof of service.

Key takeaway: A photograph is evidence of service—not the exclusive way to prove service. A missing or disputed photograph does not, by itself, invalidate otherwise lawful service or require dismissal.
