On 8/4 the Sacramento Community protested city council's decision to support a CCIC data fusion center that lets local law enforcement share intelligence with federal agencies, including ICE. This comes at a time of extreme ICE and police violence, with several people murdered over the past month alone.

Week after week, the council has ignored mass opposition at public hearings, filibustered to delay public comment, and repeatedly evacuated their chambers to impede input from the Sacramento community.

But Sacramento will NOT stand by while our representatives move to further violate citizen's privacy and empower ICE. The Sacramento community — including dozens of local organizations — have come together to fight back. Join the struggle!

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟳/𝟮𝟴 𝗮𝘁 𝟱:𝟬𝟬𝗽𝗺 as we tell the Sacramento City Council we reject their approval for the partnership with CCIC (Central California Intelligence Center).

This oppressive partnership enables Sacramento police to collaborate with federal agencies such as the NSA, FBI, and DHS/ICE. This cooperation for mass surveillance is a clear attack on our immigrant community and is rejected by the people! Cooperation with CCIC is under the ridiculous notion that agencies are fighting “terror,” but the people know the real terror is inflicted by ICE daily.

Mayor Kevin McCarty is more concerned with how to silence and dispel community members from the council chambers rather than listening to the outraged and concerned citizens who are against surveillance and cooperation with the murderous ICE deportation machine.

Show up and show Sacramento City Council that we stand with the people, refuse mass surveillance, and reject ICE!

As part of the National Day of Action, Sacramento joined 70+ cities across the country to demand not just the reforming, but the abolishment of ICE. Speakers covered many topics from the latest ICE murders of Lorenzo and Johan, to the history of ICE, and how the US-led imperialism cause people to immigrate to the empire.

The only way to end ICE is for everyday people to unite work together in organizations to fight for socialism!

It’s time to get ICE off our streets, Sacramento!

This week ICE killed two more people: 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerro in Texas, and a 28-year-old man from Florida whose name has yet to be released at time of posting. Just last week, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was brutally gunned down by ICE as well. The U.S. Government’s violent anti-immigration campaign is escalating, but we have the power to fight back against this racist institution.

Join us Saturday to raise Sacramento’s voice and build the power we need to abolish ICE!
