As the inaugural cohort of the Central Valley Health Network Leadership Academy continues, Session 2 focused on the power of strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration as drivers of organizational and community impact.

CVHN convened Alissa Ko, Vice President of External Affairs at Health Net, LLC, and Amy Ranger, Deputy Director, and Sang Leng Trieu, Capacity Building Project Director, on behalf of the California School-Based Health Alliance, to share insights and real-world examples of how cross-sector partnerships can advance workforce development, strengthen the health care ecosystem, and improve community health outcomes.

🔍Myth vs. Fact: You only need to see a doctor when you're sick.

Not quite.

Preventive care is one of the most important ways to protect your health. Regular wellness visits, screenings, and vaccinations can help identify potential concerns early, often before symptoms appear.

When was your last checkup?

It is our honor to announce the recent commencement of our inaugural cohort of the Central Valley Health Network Leadership Academy! 👏

We are pleased to welcome 26 talented professionals on behalf of 13 of our Community Health Center (CHC) members representing 21 California counties to this six-session course. Throughout this program, they will learn from experienced leaders, build relationships across organizations, engage in meaningful dialogue, and apply their learning through a capstone project focused on improving patient care, strengthening organizational effectiveness, enhancing team member experiences, and advancing health outcomes. 📚

This momentous first session featured remarks from Dolores Alvarado, CEO, Community Health Partnership and Jane Garcia, CEO, La Clínica de La Raza pertaining to the history and roles of FQHCs, and why advocacy matters. Their messages reinforced the importance of contributing to your community and remaining resilient during even the most trying times. ❤

The knowledge, skills, and connections that our cohorts will develop through this academy will extend far beyond this program. By investing in emerging leaders today, we are strengthening our health centers, supporting our workforce, and ensuring that our organizations remain strong, responsive, and mission-driven for the future. 🏥

Our next session's theme will be "Future of Healthcare: Innovative Partnerships" and will feature presentations by Alissa Ko, Vice President of External Affairs, Health Net, LLC; and Amy Ranger, Deputy Director and Sang Leng Trieu, Capacity Building Project Director, on behalf of the California School-Based Health Alliance. 👩🏻‍🏫

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting opportunity for our CHC members! ⭐
