AMCA is seeking its next Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of the American Mosquito Control Association (JAMCA).

After 20 years of dedicated service, the longest tenure of any editor in the journal’s history, Dr. Lal Mian will be stepping down. Under his leadership, JAMCA grew steadily in submissions and readership and recently reached its highest Journal Impact Factor (1.4). AMCA is deeply grateful for his service to the journal and to the mosquito control and vector ecology community.

The role is an independent contractor engagement with a four-year initial term, responsible for the journal’s editorial direction in coordination with the JAMCA Editorial Board and Publications Committee. The search committee is co-chaired by Michelle Brown, JAMCA Editorial Board Chair, and Whitney Qualls, Publications Committee Chair.

Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Thursday, October 29, 2026. This is a firm deadline. Questions may be directed to [email protected] by Thursday, October 22, 2026.

EPA Launches Bulletins Live! Two Email Alerts EPA has launched a new email subscription feature for Bulletins Live! Two (BLT) to help pesticide users stay informed of Endangered Species Act-related updates. Subscribers can receive notifications about major BLT updates, new Pesticide Use Limitation Areas (PULAs), and changes to existing PULAs. The feature was developed in response to pesticide-user requests for a more efficient way to track changes that may affect pesticide applications.
