SacIONS SacIONS presents programs that expand the understanding of human possibility by investigating aspects of mind, consciousness, and spirit.

SacIONS, the Sacramento Community of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, is a non-profit organization that is affiliated with and supports the programs of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) in its vision and mission to explore the frontiers of consciousness. SacIONS holds meetings that may include well-known national and local speakers from organizations that reflect our vision and mission as w

ell as topics presented by members. The meetings are held locally and often include co-presenting with other non-profit organizations. SacIONS supports and encourages the creation of discovery groups by its members. These groups bring diversity of perspective and foster connection through exploration, dialogue, and service. Each group is self-organizing and self-directed. Their endeavors can result in a presentation at one of the general meetings, increasing the knowledge and wisdom of all members. WHAT ARE THE NOETIC SCIENCES? SacIONS investigates the “Noetic Sciences” which bring objective scientific methods together with the deep wisdom of inner knowing to explore the mysteries of consciousness. Noetic sciences explore the "inner cosmos" of the mind (consciousness, soul, spirit) and how it relates to the "outer cosmos" of the physical world.

ANNOUNCING A SACIONS MEETING—REIMAGINING OUR WORLD!

February 27, 2022 @ 1:30 p.m.

Cost: FREE
Advance registration required

We are pleased to announce our first general meeting of the year—a 90-minute virtual meeting on Zoom to be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday February 27.

In our challenging world today we are engaged in the deep work that Lynne Twist calls Hospicing the Old and Midwifing the New. We see so much of the old systems breaking down, and as Michael Beckwith says, this process is loud, whereas the blossoming of the new is quieter. In the midst of this, Lynne Twist calls us to shine a light on the possibility of life—on new possibilities.

At SacIONS this past year, our leadership team studied the book See No Stranger by Valarie Kaur. Valarie taught us about Revolutionary Love—the importance of Wondering about others, about Grieving losses, and about Fighting for causes or to protect from harm, and about the importance of Listening. And then about the vital importance of Reimagining the world as we would like to see it. This Reimagining work is powerful and we wanted to share it with you!

So, at this event we will be working together on Reimagining. We will screen a couple of wonderful short videos that help stimulate our imagination, and share together our visions of a positive future.

We hope you will be able to join us!

TED Talk by Valarie Kaur

What's the antidote to rising nationalism, polarization and hate? In this inspiring, poetic talk, Valarie Kaur asks us to reclaim love as a revolutionary act. As she journeys from the birthing room to tragic sites of bloodshed, Kaur shows us how the choice to love can be a force for justice.

From the fall 2021 Newsletter

Valarie Kaur's book See No Stranger has been the basis of our discussions for several months. Valarie's work in human rights and building an equitable world has inspired deep work questioning current structures in our society. We have been using the process of reimagining the structures of education, racial equity, and health care. Her TED talk is an empassioned and eloquent call to change. https://www.ted.com/talks/valarie_kaur_3_lessons_of_revolutionary_love_in_a_time_of_rage?language=en

Hank Wesselman is one of the many original founders of SacIONS more than 20 years ago, and his teachings are those that some of its leaders use from time to time to go on journeys to work with our teachers, receiving healing and guidance that we use to support the work of SacIONS and IONS overall. We invite you all to this free webinar with SacIONS partner and friend, Stephen Dinan, and SacIONS co-founder and longtime friend and presenter, Hank Wesselman, in the hopes it will inspire, expand, or deepen your own journeys into the inner planes.
