The program explores the evolution of an independent family history initiative into a community-driven preservation model. Through oral histories, archival research, on-site field documentation, and digital family networks, the project demonstrates how localized, kin-centered research can reframe regional historical narratives and sustain the stewardship of African-descended families in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.
